HER P.O.V.
Dull...
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤGrief...
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤPain...
I watch them express their emotions while I'm unable to identify mine.
Eyes are set on the man who is peacefully sleeping in his casket. They said he's my husband, and we had an accident that only I survived, but I lost my memories because of it.
Feeling tired from standing too long at the window, I look away and walk towards the bed in the room I'm currently in, saying it was our bedroom. I lay on the mattress and stared at the ceiling. I held my chest, feeling a bearable pain in my heart. What is this emotion? I feel like there is something more that I need to know aside from my lost memories.
Sighing from exhaustion, I get tired easily since I'm not fully recovered. I wanted to take a nap when I heard something had fallen. I looked where the sound came from, and I saw a notebook or a journal on the floor. I got up to pick it up and went back to bed, taking a seat. It looks like a journal, and it was old with a star engraved on the front.
I opened it up to the first page and searched to see if there was a name, but I didn't find one. I went to the next page, hoping that I could know whose journal belongs to, but the sight of the handwriting looks familiar. Because of my curiosity, I read it.
While I was reading, memories flashed back through my mind. My head was in pain; unfamiliar faces showed up, and voices uttered different names while looking at me. I tried to get up but collapsed along with the journal, and then right before my eyes, a shining light appeared, and a voice echoed in the room.
"You are the child of life. This diary belongs to you; this is the story where your existence began."
After those words, all I can hear is a ringing sound. I was back in my senses when a hand tapped on my shoulder. "Mom, what happened? Are you okay?" I was asked by a girl, who looked at me worriedly, but I just stared at her. Her yellow eyes looked like a star, a similar color as in the journal.
I looked at the journal and back at her, and I saw myself in her eyes. There, I realized that my instincts are right; there is something more I need to know aside from my lost memories.
that is written in my diary.
