Kagome came to with a gasp, he body throbbing as she slowly sat up. With blurred vision she tried to take in her surroundings. There wasn't much to go on though. She shifted her body to a better position, holding in a hiss of pain as she did so.
'My whole body hurts...' Kagome thought as she did a quick check over herself to make sure there wasn't any other damage but the aches. Not seeing anything or smelling any blood, Kagome slowly stood up with a grimace on her face.
Her blue eyes took in her surroundings more closely. She was in a forest of some kind, she didn't recognize anything familiar though. She put a hand through her hair, trying to refrain herself from pulling her hair in frustration.
"What happened...." a dull throb in her head made her take a deep breath trying to remember the last thing that happened. As she stood there memories came flooding back, making the young woman pale and tears come to her eyes.
"It's over...." Kagome muttered to herself.
The jewel had been completed.....
A wish had been made.
And two souls couldn't stay in the same world....Midoriko taking pity on her sent her to a new world she thought would suit her and where she could find happiness....
But she lost a lot too,....
Her family.
She never got to fully say goodbye. Tears finally fell from her eyes as she thought of her family who would never knew what happened to her. Inuyasha had betrayed her at the last minute when she gave him the jewel.
After everything....after all they have been through. After she had loved him....
Taking a shaky breath, she bit her tip and saw something by one of the trees. A sigh of relief left her. The bright yellow bag with two weapons, her bow and a sword, propped against the tree.
"At least I will have some things to remember everyone..." Kagome sighed, brushing more tears off her cheeks as she went to the bag and going through the items she had. She had some pictures in a couple of her books she had been using as bookmarks....and she was glad she did. She would at least have those to remember her family and friends.
Her eyes went over to the bow that had been from Keade...and the sword which was from Sango. She had taught her how to use it too. It had taken long hours but she was proficient with it. Not as good as some but she could right rather well with it and could kill demons with it when she had needed too.
Grabbing the bag she tried not to ground when the weight hit her back, before putting her weapons away as well. She took a deep breath trying to push back any more tears. She had things to do.
Looking up to the sky that was peaking through the trees she could see it was getting dark already...
"First things first....shelter....then tomorrow I can do food and water." She said to herself, using her miko powers to see if she felt anything around her. Frowning she shook her head only feeling some animals here and there, no demons or humans.
"Weird." She muttered, but shook her head and made her way into the forest towards a rock formation she could see in the distance. If anything, there should be a cave somewhere. She may be able to find water on the way. There was a few snacks still in her back, not the most filling but she could eat them worse comes to worse.
As she got deeper in the forest, she made she she was on guard as she glanced around. As she got closer to the rock formation she smiled as she heard water, meaning she was near a water source...and that meant she would have something to drink as long as it wasn't stagnant water.
She rounded the bend and her smile grew seeing a cave with vines at the entrance covering most of it, and besides the cave the weres a large lake that went into a large stream going down a hill and behind some more rock formations.
"This is good...shelter and water...and I have some protein bars still in my bag to tide me over till morning if I want to hunt." She grinned as she grabbed went through her bag and grabbed a flashlight out, before making sure the bag was secure on her back once more. Clicking the flashlight on in one hand she grabbed her sword in another, unsheathing it as she got closer to the entrance of the cave.
She cautiously made her way in, shinning it around to make sure there wasn't anything hiding. The cave wasn't huge, but big enough for her to sleep and make a fire without any worry.
Kagome quickly set her bag down after sheathing her sword, and letting it sit against her hip again. She would keep it on her in case, her bow and arrows could stay in the cave while she gathered water and firewood.
She shifted in her bag again, grabbing the empty water bottle before going back out and filling it up. She took a long drink before filling it back up and putting it back with her bag.
Looking around the cave Kagome quickly grabbed some smaller stones around and used them to make a circle where she would make the fire.
"Alright, firewood......then I can sleep." She told herself. Her body needed the sleep. It still hurt and she wanted to take some pain medicine she had but she knew it would knock her out if she took them. So better to get everything set up now before she takes them.
As she headed back out she didn't notice the red eyes watching her from under the surface of the water. She didn't know what lurked under the water would soon change her life forever.
