CHAPTER ONE
The tension among the crowd was unexplainable. The players were not the only ones with their hearts racing. The fans made the game, and being triple extra time every soul was jumping from their seats. All but me. Of course I had something else on my mind. Lee.
My life had been normal, simple, easy but yet i thought i was in the deepest, darkest point of hell. I was doing well in school but found it unrealistically difficult to keep up with the vast amount of material the ignorant, stupid teachers threw at us carelessly. I, of course, had my mind constantly on that one person who i knew i would never get but who's picture i would still look upon and smile uncontrollably as if he would ever take it upon himself to speak to me. I had only had my friends to rely on for help, definatley not the mistaken, unfaithful parents of mine anyway who thought i was always up to no good when really i was the quietest most innocent girl of my school.
Then I met my cousin Lee. Lee was my mother's sisters daughter but they didnt get along so i didnt meet Lee until I was 14 at a family occasion- Lee's wedding. She knew more about the discpuit between our parents than I did and so she decided she would just invite me and not my parents, almost in punishment for never knowing her own cousin. I arrived at an old country church wearing a purple laced dress to my knee, plain, with just a cream ribbon around my waist. The scene was early morning, perfectly crisp and beautful as the newly born sun shone through the towering trees. My dad took off in the car behind me and i was left alone to face the family i had never met for the first time. I walked nervously and quickly into the small, flower-filled church and i slipped easily into a seat about three quarters of the way back the church. I realised i was holding my breath and let it out having relief for the first time. I prayed to go unnoticed, i hoped the strangers who may know who i was would not stare. It was twenty minutes of listening to the chit-chat of everything and nothing take place around me, everywhere people wore etravagant, artistic hats and brightly coloured dresses, their hairs were specially done for the occasion and matching accesories like bows and bags were worn. I felt out of place, almost suffocated with my simplicity. The organ sounded then, loud bleeps rung out and echoed off the churches thick walls. That's when i lifted my head and saw the groom. He was not overly good looking but he wasn't ugly either, he had thick brown hair and was of average height. As i sussed him out everyone infront of me turned to look around. My heart started thumping, for a split second i had presumed they were staring at me but then i realised the bride must be entering. I realised i was about tosee my cousin so i turned with the congregation. There was Lee. My cousin. She was beautiful and looked so delighted and happy as she walked slowly in with a pretty bouquet in her hands. She was stunning, her dress was long, white and had petals dotting around ruffled edges along her waist. It was simple but beautiful. I thought about having a dress like that on my wedding day. She had a perfect complection and long black hair like my own. She seemed so perfect at that moment. The ceremony went on. I kept my stare on her and surprisingly i was happy i'd come.
The after ceremony was in a small, elegant hotel, but i didnt take much notice of the place. When we arrived, i found myself a seat where i could stay on my own to let time pass. People mixed and laughed and congratulated Lee. I watched the on-goings from a distance. Just then though, Lee locked her eyes with mine. She looked me up and down and i suddenly felt more uncomfortable than i ever had before. I gazed in the other direction feeling her eyes on me. When i looked back her confused expression was replaced with a knowing, happy look. She was coming towards me.
