There was an Earth in another universe, possessing technology far beyond our own. But then a Zombie Plague caused the Earth's governments to use nuclear missiles to end the virus for good, only to be for naught, forging new factions: the Path, the Commonwealth of United Territories, and the Tokyo Revolution. However, due to the XMNV Crisis the Path's Magno-Loop was used to destroy the Earth, only to be split to two separate planets: one was New Genisys, which was a planet of peace and prosperity; the other was Apokalips, which was an apocalyptic wasteland fueled by war. The two planets were at war with each other, however an uneasy truce was made, by exchanging sons of the high leaders.

But Apokalips didn't stop there, for they must conquer an entire multiverse that they discovered, they began to conquer worlds like Earths in each universe. The next Earth in our universe was our own. One such Conqueror was Darkseid and like more before him, he wanted to conquer, for he discovered a way to control all life and all will in the multiverse: the Anti-Life Equation.

Then, he was met with Earth's defenders: the Old Gods, Men, Atlantans before their decent into the sea, Amazons before their betrayal and enslavement, monsters before their hiding of their worlds, and guardians from the stars. Their histories taught them not to trust one another; not to hope for an alliance; to fight apart. As Darkseid waged war with Earth, he found the Anti-Life Equation, which was a secret on our Earth, hidden in the vast majority of space. For time Apokalips used what they called the old ways: they would send supercomputers called Mother Boxes, which was used to terraform any planet in every universe, but now they created three new, more powerful Mother Boxes, with their science so advanced it looks like magic. These Mother Boxes were Change Engines, but when synced together, they become the Unity, allowing Darkseid to cleanse the planet with fire, and transform it into a copy of Apokalips. All who lived on that planet became his minions, alive, but drained of life, the Parademons. But on this Earth, before the Unity can syncronize, the Defenders of Earth all acted as one: Amazons alongside Atlanteans; Zeus and his son Ares alongside the Guardians from the Stars; and all the tribes of men alongside the monsters; a golden Age of Heroes was created, risking their lives to drive Darkseid away. They did what no other planet could've done: send Darkseid back into the stars. The Unity never came to pass, the Mother Boxes laid dormant, dogs without masters, waiting for their creators to return for them. The Defenders of Earth made a vow: they would protect each Mother Box according to one of their corresponding history. One was entrusted to the Atlanteans, one to the Amazons, both in unbreakable seals and safely secured in their strongholds; the Box of Men was buried in secret, so that no tribe would be tempted to use it over one another.

In the Modern Age, a planet known as Krypton was one of the Guardians from the Stars, with Earth as one of their colonies, however artificial population control was established, the outposts on space exploration were abandoned, Krypton's natural resources were exhausted, forcing them to harvest power from Krypton's core, one man saw this, Jor-El, Krypton's most renowned scientist. He and his wife Kara Zor-El, had a baby, Kal-El, and with it Jor found hope. However, Krypton's military leader, General Zod attempted a coup, planning to take the Codex Registry of Citizens, however, Jor took the Codex and placed it in Kal, and sent him to Earth, and Krypton met its end, but Kal-El lived with a farmer and his wife, Jonathon and Martha Kent, which he grew up to be Clark Kent, and discover his heritage of the House of El and became Superman, battling General Zod who was sentenced to the Phantom Zone until the destruction of the planet set them free, and salvaged everything they needed from an Old Outpost, even the World Engine, which they detected a distress signal from a Kryptonian scout ship which he activated and lead them to Earth, to discover what Jor did to the Codex and activate the World Engine, but it took the combined efforts of Superman and humanity to destroy the World Engine and send the Kryptonian criminals back to the Phantom Zone, except General Zod which plotted his revenge on Superman by killing every single human on Earth, leaving him no choice but to snap his neck.

However, someone else saw the destruction Zod did, Bruce Wayne, aka Batman. However, Lex Luthor wanted to kill Superman, goating Batman to war with him, only to lead to an alliance to save Martha Wayne, his only Earth mother after Jonathan Kent died, which was the same name of Bruce's mother, Martha Wayne, whom both she and his father died in the gutter in the street, and defeat Luthor's monstrosity, Doomsday, created out of General Zod's corpse and Luthor's blood, taking the combined efforts of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman to defeat it with Superman making the Ultimate Sacrifice, which awakened the Mother Box of the Amazons, summoning forth Apokalips' most powerful conquerors, Steppenwolf.

Through a warning of Apokaliptean invasion, Batman and Wonder Woman recruited the Atlantean Half-blood, Arthur Curry, aka Aquaman, the light-speed metahuman, Barry Allen, aka the Flash, and the Cyborg made from the Lost Box of Men, which was found at the end of World War II, Victory Stone, aka Cyborg. The Mother Box from Atlantis was stolen by Steppenwolf, but he failed to locate the Lost Box of Men, due to a rescue from the Justice League, however, the two Mother Boxes showed Steppenwolf that Earth was the location of the Anti-Life Equation, which allowed him to have an audience with Darkseid as King of Apokalips, giving him a chance of redemption, to locate the third Mother Box of Men, and form the Unity, allowing Darkseid his victory of all the Multiverse, but the Justice League revived Superman with the Mother Box and the Flash's lightning created by his speed, however he did not know who he was at first, which had to be brought back by Lois Lane who was the key to something darker than to prevent Superman to join Darkseid. Then, Steppenwolf got the third Mother Box, syncing the three together, leaving the heroes to attack Steppenwolf's stronghold and with the Flash's power, Cyborg stopped the synchronization of the Mother Boxes and pulled them from each other with Superman's strength, destroying them altogether, and defeating Steppenwolf at last, but Darkseid has found Earth and his prize, allowing them to use the old ways.

And now a new team of heroes will arrive from the shadows of the monster worlds and join hands with the Justice League, with the First War of Apokalips...
