As the time got closer the more nervous I ended up being. I'm on my fourth glass of wine. Which is saying a lot because I hardly ever drink.

I just can't fuck this up. Say or do something wrong that would make things awkward between us. I would never show my face up at work again.

Time flew by so fast that I lost track of time. Next thing I knew was that there was a knock at the door. I took a deep breath letting it out before opening it. I was greeted with a huge smile.

"Come in please have a seat." Julia took a seat on the sofa. I handed her a glass of wine which she gladly took.

"Are you hungry?" I asked.

"Oh I'm starved."

"I'll get you some food."

I grabbed her a plate putting some food on it walking it over to her.

"Thank you. Oh this looks delicious."

"It is delicious, try it." I said walking over to sit beside of her with my plate.

She took a bite nodding her head.

"This is really good."

"Thank you. I got it off of Facebook reels. My mom sends me recipes all the time."

"That's cool. Sometimes they show some really interesting recipes."

We ate having conversations in between. Talking a little bit about everything. With me on my fifth glass of wine and her on her fourth I think we were both feeling it.

"Look, I'm sorry about earlier. Ignoring you and stuff." I spoke out randomly.

"Oh, you don't have to apologize. I completely understand now. I knew I'd get it out of you eventually. How are you holding up?"

"Fine, I guess. What else can you do in a situation like this? Nothing. There is nothing you can do." I told her looking straight at her but her eyes were already on me.

"Well just always remember that I am here for you. Call or text me any time and you are always welcomed in my office." She said placing her hand on my thigh.

"Thank you, Julia. I really do appreciate it."

"No need to thank me." She said squeezing my thigh before removing her hand.

I took my last drink of wine before I asked her the question that I would be too afraid to ask if I were sober.

"I have a weird out of the blue question for you." I said moving a little closer to her. I stared into her eyes and she stared right back into mine.

"Have you ever kissed a woman before?"

"Excuse me? What the hell kind of question is that? Why would you even ask me that?"

"I just want to know the answer."

"That is totally inappropriate and out of line."

"Could you just answer the damn question?"

"No, I haven't. I have never even thought about it."

"Do you want to?"

"Leah, I am married. I have never had a reason to kiss another woman."

"I know that you are, so what? Oh, so you need a reason?"

"I have a husband who loves me. Yeah, I need a real reason."

"Have you never thought about how it would feel to be with a woman? You've never hooked up with a girl in college?"

"No, I have always been with guys. My husband satisfies my needs and wants. Is this what you wanted me over here for? Is this why you invited me? To try and get with me? Is this thing with your grandma even real?"
