The Show

Astrid laid beneath the stars silently. She was amazed bythe different constellations and the occasional shooting star. She's always wondered about them, and what they were. Some said that theywere huge balls of fire, burning hundreds of miles away. Others said that the stars were the spirits of their vikings ancestors, watching over them from the heavens.

While Astrid pondered the possibilities, she saw something out of the corner of her eye. It was a crystal clear night, but the stars to her left seemed to appear and disappear in a trail pattern. Hiccup, she thought to herself. After a few minutes of watching him, she noticed that he had turned around and was heading in her direction. Suddenly, a blue streak shot across the sky, exploding in beautiful circle. The shots came one by one, always from different directions.

After the last blue circle faded. Astrid heard a thud from behind her. Jumping up, she ran over to where Toothless andHiccup hadjust landed.

"That was amazing!" Astrid exclaimed. "I can't believe you didthat for me!" Hiccup smiledweakly.

"Yep!" he said, rubbing the backof his neck. "That was definitely for you. It had nothing to do with Toothless going out of control on an annoying Terrible Terror..." He gently rammed his elbow into Toothless' side. Toothless smackedhis tail into Hiccup's head in return. Astrid laughed.

"Doyou need ride home?" Hiccup asked. Astrid nodded.

"That would be great," she said. The twoclimbed on Toothless' back, and prepared for take off.

Suddenly, Astridsaw something out of the corner of her, again. However, this appeared to be closer, and smaller...

"Hiccup," Astridwhispered. She pointed to the smaller dragon.

"That's not good!" Hiccup said. "It's the same one as earlier! Let's just hope Toothless doesn't-" Before he could finishhis sentence, Toothless shot off toward the Terrible Terror.

"Thank you for nothing, you useless reptile!" Hiccup screamed over the rushing wind. Astrid smiled.
