I trained in Alicante' for several years at the age of ten, I was prepare to come back and soon join the New York institute. After the letter Mortmain had sent me it all became I clear, I was to join them and find every secret this institute held until I would be sent to another. My task was simple, well until I met someone in my life who would change all of that my enemy and teammate, Catrina Penrose.

As everyone younger than 18 cannot join the council meetings so all of us usually hang out by the door to figure out what they talk about. We get in trouble with Isabelle with this but since we hang out with her son it never truly seems to matter. As we hung out on the stairs and on the wall next to the doors they seemed to be in a disagreement yet again. Laura finally spoke up

"By the angel, do they know fighting does nothing to get things done?" She said pacing around the door

"Really? We seem to fight all the time." Isaiah mumbled, Laura turned back around

"What was that?" she snapped, he put his hands up in surrender

"Wait! There talking about someone named..." Catrina had her ear to the door when an adult voice behind came

"None of your business that's who." We turned around to see Simon cross his arms and waited for a response from one of us.

"Dad! We were umm..." Isaiah started to think of a lie.

"You were listening to the clave when you're supposed to be training." He explained it for us. We nodded

"Then why are you out here?" Laura asked with a smirk on her face

"Those clave meeting, they get boring after a while, I don't even know why you guys love to hear only arguing for hours." He smirked as well which made us shrug and think about it as well. "But I can warn you that the clave is about to dismiss so you better get out of the way." He chuckled and left.

The clave dismissed and the doors came flying open, which we all ran away pretty quickly, the upside of being a shadowhunter.

As we all ran into the training room I couldn't help but feel they were talking about someone maybe even him of all things. As we started to go back into regular training, which is where we are skilled in different things. Laura is great with a Seraph blade, Isaiah has a gift in knife throwing, Catrina is gifted with the study of runes and crafting new ones, while I had one thing I truly love which is the bow-in-arrow. We all practice merely every day and as we were training we were interrupted by Laura's parents wanting to talk to her. Jace and Clary Herondale are their names and they have been together forever, I guess. I looked up at Catrina who was sitting on the balance beam mesmerized by Jace. I couldn't blame her, in fact, all the girls of any age still think he's probably one of the hottest guys to ever walk in the New York institute, as they both left Laura came back to me.

"Apparently, my parents are going on some chase to find someone...geez seventeen and you can't know one thing about the clave nowadays. "She crossed her arms and looked up "What's she daydreaming about?"

"You know the usual." I said climbing up to the beam "Just dreaming about sleeping with your father," Laura made a gaging sound

"Is this because your parabatai or she actually tells you?" She asked. I sat next to Catrina who was still in her own world.

"Just an assumption." I shrugged She scoffed and walked away.

I looked over a Catrina, who finally snapped out of it when I punched her in the arm.

"Hey, chill, I didn't mean anything by it." I said

"What?" she asked, I laughed

"Never mind." I jumped of the beam
