Life with Dona was a lot better. I no longer was forced to go to therapy and she NEVER locked me in my room or hit me. My room his my safe space, that's what she said and it was true. Henry and Avery would come over like everyday and I was happy. Once u got older and I stated high school Dona told me to try out for the cheer team as it would be good to have that for college. I spent so much of my time on cheer, every second of every day cheer. Henry and Avery got so tired of waiting for me and me cancelling on them we started to drift apart, so much so they we forgot we were even friends in the first place.
That's when I met Beth, she was the best at everything. She taught me how to to a cheer captain and how to be good at being popular. By the time I turned 16 I had so many friends and everyone loved me at least that town that acted. Even with all of my friends I still felt so alone, so different. No one was like me I tried so hard to be like everyone else but nothing worked.
I missed Henry and Avery but I had worked so hard for people to no longer see me as the nerdy little freak. My dreams were getting worse and they started to feel so real but I had no one I could trust to talk to about it.
One month later I met Ben and I was never alone again.
