Rohit took a deep breath trying to calm his nerves and encouraging himself to go ahead with the plan. He took a deep breath again before covering his face with a mask and stealthily walking towards his destination - Birla Hospital.
He was about to enter the door when suddenly he was stopped by the watchman. He looked at him pretending to stay calm but he was a wrecking nerve internally.
"Aap kon ho sab," the watchman asked him suspiciously as the black mask and dress he was wearing was raising doubts on him. He had seen in many movies how thieves and murderers wear the same attire to prevent themselves from being caught he was not taking any sort of risk.
"Ji main Mr. Birla se Milne aya hoon" Rohit replied slightly modulating his voice. The watchman still looked suspicious as he asked another question.
"Kis Mr. Birla se milna chahte hai."
"Huh, kis ka kya matlab hai anyways main umm ya Mr. Neil Birla se milna aya hoon," Rohit replied being irritated as to why he was not being sent. But soon his irritation changed as he saw the watchman looking at him shocked. He felt conscious.
"Aap kisse milne aye hai Saab." The watchman man asked him back not being able to believe. Why is this young boy searching for a person who was dead over three decades back? Why now.
"Neil Birla" he repeated this time a bit unsurely. Why was he giving him such a reaction rather than just letting him go?
The man looked at him for a few minutes and then pulled Rohit further away from the entrance. Even before Rohit could ask him he heard the watchman say and he was left shocked at what he heard.
"Saab Neil baba ko gaye hue 34 years ho gaye hai aap yaha kisse dhoond ne aye hoon."
Rohit looked on shocked hearing it.
"No no yeh nahi ho sakti esa nahi ho sakta yaha tak akar ese sab khatam nahi ho sakta"
The watchman pitied the man. He doesn't know why he came here now but he can understand that meeting Neil Birla was very important to this boy. He was working with Birla's from the time Neil had started working there and he very clearly knew what a pure soul he was. But after his death, he had seen how the family got broken. He also remembers how after his death that name was no longer spoken in the hospital to avoid the memories related to it. It was after 33 years that he heard that name. That was when he remembered something. He looked back at Rohit who still looked shocked and rushed inside the security room to get something. There was something he could give to that boy just maybe it could help him.
Rohit somehow composed himself and was about to go when he felt a pat on his shoulder. He looked back at the huffing watchman and frowned.
"Beta mujhe nahi patah ki tumhe Neil Baba ke baare me kyu jaana hai par mere pass kuch hai jo shayad tumhare kaam aa sakta hai."
Rohit felt the hope in his rise at those words.
"Kya hai kaka aap mujhe de dijiye jo bhi hai mujhe chalega." At that point, he could take anything given to him.
Watchman nodded he was right in bringing it to that boy.
"Yeh book I mean wo kya kehte hai use ha Diary yeh diary rakhlo yeh Arohi madam ka tha(seeing his confusion) Neil Baba ki biwi aur Roohi Beta ki Ma." He replied with a smile at those fond memories he had shared with that little girl who sneaked out of the hospital to play with him or shared her food with him so that he wouldn't stay hungry on the days he couldn't bring the food.
Rohit took the book but stilled for a second hearing that name but dismissed those thoughts thinking it would be someone else. He was grateful for that help. Maybe his wife knew something about that incident maybe that was possible.
