"For the first time in the seven years since she first arrived, she began to think the Orphanage was a better place for her. She just hated herself, hated her life, hated everything. "
King Augustine and Queen Pandora make a life changing decision t...
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow across the palace, a significant revelation unfolded within the royal chambers. King Augustine and Queen Pandora, their expressions laden with both pride and responsibility, gathered their oldest daughter Isa to impart news that would reshape her destiny. "Isa, please join your mother and me. We have something important to discuss." King Augustine smiled warmly, ushering a nervous Isa to their bed. "Indeed, my dear. It's time for us to share something significant with you." Queen Pandora nodded, also beaming at her first born. "What is it, Mother, Father? You both seem quite serious." Isa muttered timidly, effortlessly placing a strand of hair behind her ear.
King Augstine placed a reassuring hand on Isa's shoulder. "There's nothing to be afraid of, my love. In fact, we have wonderful news to share." Queen Pandora stood up and announced, "Isa, my dear, you are the firstborn, the eldest among your sisters. And as per the traditions of our land, it is time to reveal your destiny." Isa gawked at her mother with a wide eyed expression. "Destiny? What do you mean?"
"Isadora, my daughter, you are the next heir to the KodaCait throne."
The sentence rang in her head like a clanging bell that wouldn't stop ringing. It all felt like a blur to her. Isa realised there and then that she was no longer a pretty little princess who was free to do whatever she wanted, but she was soon going to be a queen, and not only would she have to be an impeccable woman and an example to her seven younger sisters, but a courageous leader for all the people of KodaCait. And if she failed, who knew what would happen to her? She wasn't sure she was ready for all that pressure.
"What? But, Father, there are others who are more experienced and capable. I'm not sure I'm ready for such a responsibility." Isa stammered, fiddling with her diamond necklace and staring down at her cream coloured nightgown. Her mother stepped forward and gently cupped her face, staring into her gorgeous green eyes, "You may feel nervous now, my child, but we believe in you. The throne has been passed down through generations, and it is time for you to embrace your role."
Isa then turned to her father, who was also now standing in front of her, "But what if I'm not up to the task? What if I let everyone down?" she asked worriedly, already dreading the worst.
As if King Augustine had read his daughter's mind, he smiled, "Isa, every leader faces uncertainty and challenges. It's how one rises above them that defines true leadership. We have watched you grow, observed your kindness towards your sisters, your intelligence, and your sense of justice. We have faith in you." "Your duty as the heir involves attending numerous events, meeting with other leaders, and proving yourself to the people. It won't be easy, but we are here to guide and support you every step of the way." Queen Pandora added, nodding her head in approval.
Trying to absorb all this shocking information and newfound pressure, Isa took a deep breath and tried to collect her thoughts, "I... I appreciate your faith in me, Mother, Father. I just hope I can live up to your expectations."
"You will, Isa. Remember, you carry the strength of your lineage within you. Embrace your destiny with courage, and you'll make us and the entire kingdom proud." King Augustine said with an encouraging smile on his face.
Queen Pandora walked towards Isa and gave her a big hug. "We believe in you, my dear. Now, let's prepare for the journey ahead together."
Feeling a mix of apprehension and excitement, Isa stood up, smiled at her parents and politely curtsied to them, before responding: "Thank you, Mum and Dad. I will do my best to honour our family and the KodaCait throne."

Isa's favourite time of the day was night time, because it gave her the opportunity to destress with the youngest members of the family- Stella and Bella. Seated among the twins, Isa began to weave intricate braids into their hair, a nightly ritual that symbolised the threads of their familial connection. As she worked her skilled fingers through Stella and Bella's ginger locks, Isa recounted tales of bravery and magic, captivating the twins with the power of her storytelling.
"In the heart of the Enchanted Forest, the timid bunny Willow, with fur as soft as a cloud and eyes full of curiosity, overcomes her fears and embarks on a journey to the magical meadow hidden deep within the woods. Willow's triumph not only fulfils her longing for adventure but also inspires other timid animals to face their fears and explore the extraordinary possibilities beyond their burrows, turning her into a legendary figure in the Enchanted Forest" Isa gently retold the story of Willow the bunny to her youngest sisters, who were both captivated and hypnotised by her beauty and angelic voice.
In the gentle ambiance of the room, Isa's words took on a deeper meaning. She turned her attention to Stella, the shyer of the two, and spoke with a warmth that only a sister could muster. "Stella, my precious one, I see your strength. Embrace your voice, let it be heard. You have a light within you that deserves to shine, and you don't always need Bella to speak for you."
Stella, encouraged by Isa's words, nodded in quiet appreciation. Bella, the ever-protective sister, listened attentively, understanding the significance of Isa's counsel. Isa then turned to Bella with a warm smile, "Sweet Bella, You are a burst of sunshine in a world that needs your light. Embrace your gift of gab with pride, and never forget that your words matter"
Bella nodded, whilst yawning and snuggling in between her two favourite people in the world. Isa giggled seeing the two twins sleeping together, and kissed both of their foreheads goodnight before gliding out of the room.
The night continued, an intimate tapestry of sisterhood and guidance. Isa, with a heart full of love and duty, imparted not only stories but also the wisdom borne of her impending responsibilities. The threads of duty and sisterhood, woven together, promised a future where Isa would find strength in the unity of her legacy.
