Ghost's Pov

I hadn't slept after my night watch with Paige as I didn't want to mess up my sleeping pattern. It was 10am and I knew I needed to wake Paige otherwise it would really screw her up. I knocked on her door, rather loudly trying to wake her up. She eventually answered and I was greeted by a mess of curly hair and a very disgruntled Paige. I walked in not saying anything to her.

'Come in I guess' she said rubbing her eyes as I sat down on the sofa.

'You need to get up otherwise you will mess up your body clock.'

'Ok leave then, so I can get ready' I rolled my eyes at her statement. I knew her well enough to know that she would go right back to sleep.

'No, I know what you are like. Go. Now' I wasn't going to argue with her. Mainly because I wasn't in the mood, but Soap had also warned me about Paige and her moods in the morning. Personally I didn't want to get to see that.

She sighed and reluctantly went into the bathroom. I looked around her room waiting for her to finish getting ready, she had little trinkets everywhere. Pictures of her family but mainly her and Soap. Pillows scattered here and there, a pink throw over the messy bed, and on the sofa I was sitting on. I got up and made her bed for her knowing she wouldn't make it if I didn't. As I lifted up the bed sheet, and saw a book that had fallen down the side of her bed. I picked it up and gave it a read over, usual boring romance shit. I opened up a random page and my eyes widened at what I read. I put it on the nightstand pretending I didn't accidentally uncover a side of Paige that no one knew about. I quickly sat down on the sofa, leaving the bed as it was because I didn't want to uncover anything else.

I heard a thud behind me, I turned around quickly only to see Paige standing there in a towel wrapped around her and an unreadable expression on her face.

'I er, forgot my clothes. Sorry' she said while quickly picking up her clothes and rushing into the bathroom. I could feel her embarrassment from where I was sitting, I didn't mind the view though. The way the towel covered her curves and the small water droplets running down her body. It was a site any sane man would like. I heard the door open and Paige came out looking rather sheepish.

'You know you could've asked me and it could've spared you the embarrassment I imagine you're currently experiencing' I said not turning around just to make sure she wasn't in a towel again.

'Sorry' she said quickly, she didn't have to apologise I definitely didn't mind the view.

'It wasn't the worst sight I have seen in my life. Let's go and eat. Price said he wanted to see you as well' I said standing up leaving the room. I watched as she nodded and followed me out of the room. There was a silence between us as we sat in the mess hall but once again it wasn't uncomfortable it was nice. She excused herself and went to make herself a tea and a coffee I am assuming for Price. I watched as she walked away not knowing what was in store for her, I just hoped it wasn't too much for her. I knew her but not well enough, well not enough for me anyway. I needed to know everything about her, absolutely everything from her mind, to her soul, her beliefs, just everything.

I must admit knowing I would be on this mission alone with her made my heart beat a little faster than usual. I didn't understand why but every time I thought about her it happened. I had a meeting to attend at 1300 and it was only 1100. I went to my room and picked up a book about Greek mythology. Time got the best of me and it was was now 1310, I rushed out of my room not wanting to be late, I bumped into Price on my way there and we walked in to find Paige already sitting there.

I guess she agreed to the mission, which surprised me. I didn't know she had it in her, but I can respect it. Me and Price both greeted her and Price began setting up the laptop to call Laswell.

'Captain, Lieutenant.' She paused and looked at Paige through the screen. 'and you must be Paige. Impressive track record I must say.'

I looked over at Paige who gave her a smile of pride. She was practically beaming over the what Laswell had said to her. Before Laswell carried on speaking. 'so this will be a recon mission. It's an old money ball which means there will be a lot of people there who have big names. Paige I have had a shipment sent over to you which should contain everything you need for the ball. Ghost same goes for you. It is a 4 day mission, you have two targets to talk to.' She paused pulling up pictures of two men. 'Imran Zakhaev and Victor Zakhaev. They work closely with Makarov, we know this thanks to Johnson.'

I watched as Paige's eyes widened, I guess she didn't know Johnson spoke. After Paige left her in the interrogation room Amelia had spoken a bit about the next big event and who our targets were.

'Paige and Ghost, as this is not your typical recon mission you will be staying in a hotel about 10miles out from the hotel where the ball is being held. That is for your protection. Price will go over all of the fine details closer to the mission. Contact me if there are any issues, other than that I will be in contact the day of the mission. Good luck soldiers' and with that the call ended.

Paige quickly thanked Price and left in a rush. I knew she was probably tired and was off to have a nap. I liked that idea and I myself went to my dorm before I was stopped by Soap.

'Look I've overheard about the mission.' There was this crazy look in his eyes one that I hadn't seen before 'you keep her safe. Make sure no man or woman lays a hand on her. Keep checking on her mentally not just physically. I mean this in the most respectful way LT but you will keep my sister safe, if you don't. Don't bother stepping foot back on base.'

'Soap i understand but it's just a recon mission. Everything will be ok. I know you are her brother but you can't protect her forever. She is big enough.' I walked away. Forget what what Soap would do if Paige got hurt but I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I let her get hurt.
