At the first aid tent, Posy sat on a makeshift bed and sadly rubbed her bandaged ankle, silently mourning the passing of her new-found confidence. The fall was pretty severe according to the medics. She had a grazed elbow and a twisted ankle which meant she was banished to crutches for the next two months, which ultimately meant she was unable to practise the routine for the Chroma Ball along with the other girls. To make things even worse, her leg injury resulted in a few solo photoshoots being cancelled. She was still reeling in shock at seeing Mari's sadistic smirk. How had no one noticed her evil act?

Posy's thoughts were soon interrupted by Princess Lucinda, who had entered the tent. She was concerned for Posy, and wanted to see if she was okay.

"How are you feeling, Posy? Does it hurt terribly?"

Avoiding eye contact, Posy glanced at the floor, looking disappointed, "It's... it's not too bad, Your Highness. Thank you for checking up on me and...bringing me here".

"Call me Lucinda. No need for formalities. I just wanted to make sure you're alright" Lucinda smiled warmly, sitting beside Posy.

A beautiful girl who was the same age as Evie, Lucinda had dark chocolate skin. Her hair was majestic red and she had a smile that could make anyone melt. She came fifth in the beauty pageant, and it was clear to see why. The comparison of their looks, like a shadow cast upon the room, revealed the undercurrents of rivalry and envy that ran beneath the surface of Posy's camaraderie with fellow royals.

They exchanged an awkward smile when suddenly the tent flap swung open, with Evie rushing in abruptly, her eyes were wide and wild with worry, and seeing Posy, she breathed a heavy sigh of relief.

Evie gasped and ran over to Posy, hugging her incredibly tightly, "Sweet mother of heavens! Posy!"

"Ouch, Evie. Could you loosen up a little?" Posy winced softly.

"Sorry, sorry! I was so worried about you. I'm so sorry!"

"Why? I mean, thanks, but... why are you so worried?"

Evie giggled and squeezed Posy's cheeks. "Because you're my favourite little sister, of course!"

"But... you have seven sisters" Posy muttered, tilting her head to one side in confusion.

"I know. And I have five little sisters: Mari, Bea, you and the twins. And you're my favourite. Don't tell the others though".

Feeling intrigued, Lucinda watched the exchange with a small chuckle, "It's heartwarming to see such a close bond".

"Absolutely! I'm so proud of my munchkin!" Evie nodded, ruffling Posy's hair, "So, how's our adorable little winner doing? I hope you're not too hurt. I mean, the fall seemed pretty serious. It broke my heart to see you in pain!"

Posy mumbled, "I'm fine, Evie. Just a twisted ankle and a grazed elbow."

"Mari told me you fell off your horse. But that's okay! Accidents happen. It's happened to me one too many times!"

The tension was almost palpable and Posy flinched. Her hands shaken, Posy stared at the ground.

"It wasn't an accident. Mari...pushed me"

"Mari? Push you? Posy, you must be mistaken. She's not like that." Evie laughed nervously.

"Perhaps we should give Posy the benefit of the doubt..." Lucinda interjected, feeling sympathy for Posy.

Refusing to hear it, Evie put a hand in Lucinda's face, signalling her to silence. With her hand on her hip, she closed her eyes with a furrowed brow and a shake of her head.
