A short alternate ending for those who might have wanted a different ending

Late one night at Graceland, Elvis was walking down the hallway to Olivia's room to check on her since he had been restless lately when he felt his chest tighten and within a matter of minutes he dropped to the floor, Olivia just so happening to see her dad collapse and ran over to him. "Dad! Are you ok?!" She knelt down and pushed his body over with a bit of a struggle, his eyes looking straight into hers. She checked his pulse and tried it again after not feeling anything, tears brimming her eyes as she looked back into his piercing blue orbs. "Oh dad...." Olivia sobbed, gently closing his eyes before holding him close, the other residents of Graceland rushing over to see what the commotion was about

"Daddy?" Rose had arrived on the scene but was held back by Jerry, watching as Joe tried to revive her dad

Though Elvis had passed and it was quick, the last thing he saw was his beautiful daughter emerging from her bedroom

Julia came out of her and Elvis' room to where everyone was gathered, placing a hand over her mouth at seeing her husband laying unresponsive on the floor and Charlie's voice to be heard in one of the other rooms calling for an ambulance. Her knees practically gave out when Joe looked up at her with the most sorrowful expression and shook his head, Olivia being quick in catching her mother and trying her best to comfort the bawling woman

The viewing was hard on everyone, more so the family. Rose wouldn't stop crying as she couldn't understand why her daddy didn't wake up after calling for him constantly, hoping he'd open his eyes and invite her over into his arms for a comforting hug

"Papa, please. I want your kissies." Rose pleaded as she attempted to reach into the casket to grasp her father's arm closest to her

"Honey, he can't. Not anymore." Julia sympathized with her daughter, picking her up. "How about you give him one last kiss?"

With the help of her mother, Rose leaned towards her dad and kissed him ever so gently on the cheek. "I wish you didn't have to go, daddy. Who's going to tuck me in at night and hold me when I'm scared of thunderstorms or- or who's going to let me sneak a popsicle before dinner?"

Julia took the young child outside to try and calm her down, Olivia slowly approaching the casket where her father looked so peaceful as he laid there. "Why didn't you tell us you were sick? Why did you have to go?" She choked back tears, carefully parting her fingers through his hair. He'd forever hold a special place in her heart, no one would ever be able to replace her father for years to come. She glanced up at Jerry when he rested a hand on her shoulder and led the Presley girl outside where the others were to get some fresh air though looked over at her dad one last time before following Jerry out the front door. The whole front half of the driveway and yard were filled with people mourning the loss of Elvis, most of which were family and close friends though his fans were waiting down by the music gates to be let in and see Elvis one last time, the street completely full of people like a can of sardines. It was a sad and unforgettable day for not only Memphis but the entire world

Julia was making breakfast for the kids in the early hours of the morning, sunlight pouring in from the small window above the sink in the kitchen through the den, listening to the radio playing low as she mixed ingredients into a white bowl for batter, Rose accompanying her mother by sitting at the small table in the back of the kitchen and conversing

Olivia walked in, somewhat in a dazed state as she looked from her mother to her sister

"What's that look for?" Julia questioned

"You never make waffles."

"Yes I do! Now go take a seat, don't linger."

She did as her mom said and sat down in her usual spot near the head of the table in the dining room with her little sister when James walked past and entered the kitchen, sniffing the air and humming. "Smells good, mom."

"Take a seat in the dining room with your sisters, it's almost done." Julia instructed

The kids were just about done with their breakfast and got up to take their plates to the kitchen when they saw someone bending over with the refrigerator door open, seeing the back of their outfit first which was a white suit that had navy blue embroidered Angel wings

The harvest gold refrigerator door closed shortly after and the being straightened up as well, smiling at the trio. "Hey kiddos. Did your mother make good waffles?" Elvis popped the cap off of a bottle of Dr. Pepper he had taken and took a swig of the fizzy drink

"Yeah, you missed out." Olivia flashed him a smile, taking her siblings plates after scraping off any excess food into the trash can and placing them in the avocado green sink

"I'm sure I did." He chuckled, ruffling Rose's soft blonde hair when she hugged him

With each passing day, it grew harder for Olivia to remember how long she's been in heaven with her family but it made her swell with joy to be back with everyone again, mostly her dad. "Come on, your grandma is waiting outside. You know how she doesn't like to miss church." Elvis checked the time on his watch and set his bottle of soda down on the white countertop, ushering his children to front door and outside to the driveway where Gladys was waiting with Vernon by the pink Cadillac

"I was wondering if you all forgot about it being Sunday." Gladys smiled at the sight of her son and grandkids

"I think they did, momma." Elvis opened the back door of his 1973 Stutz Blackhawk that had been parked on the drive, watching his three kids climb inside and closed the door after they were in

Gladys and Vernon got into the pink Cadillac just as Julia rushed down the stone steps of the front door to where her husband had been waiting with the passenger door of the Stutz open for her, grinning. She thanked him as she got in and Elvis closed the door after, finally getting into the car himself. He glanced in the rear view mirror to check on the kids who were bickering as per usual whenever they'd be going somewhere

"Don't make me come back there." Elvis warned as he started up the car, smirking when there was complete silence

Olivia looked out the window to her left to watch the everyday sights pass by that mostly consisted of the front yard and beyond the stone wall was miles upon miles of clouds and rays of light. This was their peace of heaven and she wouldn't trade it for anything else, smiling to herself as she fidgeted with her silver Angel wings necklace and listening to Elvis humming 'How Great Thou Art'
