one quality the smith bloodline always had, was being hardworking. and erwin smith could see his daughter was it - kinda - but just needed a little push.

he knows she has it hard with cheer, school and also deciding her own path in life, but he knew she would buckle when facing something else, she would push through it.

that's why he deciding she needed

"a job?!" (y/n) smith felt as if she was going to faint in any second.

erwin nodded, confusing her astonishment as excitement "you need to search for a job"

"are you disowning me?" you asked, tears about to fall from your eyes "why are you doing this to me??"

he stood up, both hands resting on his wooden desk "no i'm not disowning you, picture it as, something you can learn from"

"how about you picture me half-dead all bloodied up laying on an abandoned alley dad?! cause that's how you're making me feel!" you fell dramatically into a chair.

"it's not that bad, having a job. besides, i have an offer for you. one of my work buddies mentioned his babysitter was a no-show so he's looking for one, preferably young and a girl, since he has a daughter a bit younger than you, and won't trust old fashioned nanny's" he smiled, waiting for your reply.

"and i care 'cause..?"

"because i told him you will babysit her, she's just 12, you won't have to be changing diapers or anything like that"

good cause i wouldn't have don't it either if she was a baby you rolled your eyes "dad i don't know which is worse for her reputation or mine, being 12 and having a babysitter or babysitting a 12 year old"

"you start tomorrow tuesday, pick her up from marley middle school, and don't be mean please. i'll send you her schedule before you leave"

you crossed your arms, only nodding, knowing he wouldn't change his mind about the dilemma.

"now go rest, it's already very late and i don't want you to be tired"
