"Are they dating?" Jungkook asked, his gaze fixed on the couple sitting in the corner of the cafe. I could sense the nervousness in his question, the anticipation hanging in the air for my response, hoping against hope for a 'no.'

"No, if they were, Mina would've told me," I assured him, watching a visible sigh of relief escape his lips.

"I'm sure that jerk is making a move on her," he grumbled, jealousy seeping through his voice, a sentiment I couldn't help but acknowledge with a defeated sigh.

"Well, even if he is, he's not the only one. A lot of guys are hitting on her," I admitted, stating the undeniable truth.

"Those assholes, ugh, I don't know what to do anymore," he lamented, frustration evident in his tone.

"What if I try to make her jealous? Let's date, Y/N," he proposed, his eyes fixed on me. I widened my eyes in shock, secretly liking the idea but not the part about making Mina jealous.

"Are you nuts? I never thought you were this stupid, Jungkook," I blurted out, realizing my words a moment too late and closing my mouth with an apologetic wince.

"Stupid?" he chuckled, shaking his head. "Then what should I do, Miss Genius?" he asked, genuine curiosity in his expression.

"I mean, that's a stupid idea. I'm not saying you're stupid," I clarified, embarrassment evident in my demeanor. He nodded his head still awaiting my explanation.

"Obviously, you're not close to her, and she doesn't even know your feelings for her. So, no matter if you date me or anyone else, that's not going to affect her in any way," I explained in a calm tone, making Jungkook nod in agreement.

"Why don't you begin by being friends with her?" I suggested, prompting him to furrow his eyebrows in a questioning manner.

"I mean, most people tend to fall in love with those who are close to them, so the chances of her falling for you also rise," I continued, watching as he analyzed my words. A smile slowly formed on his face, appreciating the simplicity of the advice.

"That's a really good idea. Thanks, Y/N," he said, eliciting a soft smile from me.

"Then let's continue our talk. Tell me about Mina's favorite places to visit," he prompted once more. The desire to head home grew stronger within me.

"Y/N, spill. What the heck was that all about?" Mina prodded, lounging on my sofa with her legs folded.

"What?" I tried to play dumb, though I knew exactly what she meant. Confirming was just a formality.

"You and Jungkook," she said, rolling her eyes with a duh tone.

"He, uh, just needed some advice," I managed to blurt out.

"Advice on what?" Her curiosity was practically jumping out.

"On confessing to you," I stammered, feeling the absurdity of the situation.

Mina's eyes widened, and a burst of laughter escaped her. "No way! Jungkook wants to confess to me?" she asked, disbelief and amusement all over her face.

"Yeah, he seemed dead serious about it," I confirmed, my mind trying to keep up with the crazy turn of events. Mina's laughter echoed, and she shook her head.

"Well, this is a curveball. Did he say why he came to you?"

"He just... I guess he thought I could help. Maybe because we're friends?" I replied, being careful not to spill too much.

"So, you're his friend now?" Mina teased, mischief in her eyes.

"Sorta..." I chuckled.

As we shot the breeze, the vibe in the room lightened up, and the tension from before started to fade. Mina's contagious laughter and the ease of our friendship acted as a sweet distraction from the emotional rollercoaster within me.

A/N

You might be wondering why Y/N told everything to Mina. Let's be real, even if Y/N wants to help Jungkook, honesty is key. It's important to let Mina know about the possibilities that could unfold. Y/N doesn't want to keep Mina in the dark. That's what real friends do
