*TW: Crying*
*3RD Person's POV*
Heeseung woke up feeling excited as it was his birthday today. He quickly got out of bed and made his way to the bathroom to brush his teeth and get ready for the day.
After getting ready, he went downstairs to make breakfast.
"Morning, Hyung." Jungwon said as soon as he saw Heeseung walking downstairs. "Morning, Jungwon." He replied, hoping Jungwon would remember what day it was.
They were both the only one in the kitchen as everyone else was either sleeping or they just woke up. They had nothing to do in the morning, but later they had practice.
"Wanna play some games?" Heeseung asked his younger. "No," Heeseung's heart dropped. "I was about to watch a movie. Maybe later?"
Heeseung forced a slight smile as he nodded. Jungwon then took up his cup of tea before going upstairs to his room, leaving Heeseung alone in the kitchen.
Heeseung felt like crying. How could he forget his birthday? Heeseung lost his appetite. He sighed before making his way upstairs to his room.

Heeseung stood in the practice room, surrounded by mirrors that reflected his weary expression. His heart felt heavy, burdened by a weight he couldn't shake off. Today was supposed to be special, a day marked on the calendar with anticipation and excitement, but instead, it felt like any other ordinary day.
His birthday.
He had woken up with a glimmer of hope, expecting at least a small celebration from his group members, the other members of ENHYPEN. However, as the day wore on, it became increasingly clear that everyone had forgotten. His heart sank with each passing hour, a mixture of disappointment and sadness settling in his chest.
As he stood in front of the mirrored wall, Heeseung couldn't help but feel a surge of emotion building up inside him. He blinked back tears, refusing to let them fall. He was supposed to be strong, the reliable leader of his group. But in that moment, alone in the practice room, he felt anything but strong.
He started going through the routine they were supposed to practice for their upcoming live performance. Each move felt heavier than usual, each step a reminder of the emptiness he felt inside. He tried to push through, to focus on the dance, but his mind kept drifting back to the fact that no one had remembered his birthday.
As he reached the climax of the routine, his emotions finally broke through the dam he had built around them. Tears welled up in his eyes, blurring his vision as he continued to dance, his movements now fueled by a mix of frustration and heartache. He couldn't understand why no one had remembered, why no one had even mentioned his birthday.
With each spin and turn, he poured his heart out, the dance becoming a cathartic release for the emotions he had been holding back all day. He danced until he couldn't dance anymore, until his body was drained and his spirit exhausted.
Collapsing to the floor, Heeseung buried his face in his hands, his shoulders shaking with silent sobs. He felt so alone, so unimportant in that moment. It was as if the world had forgotten about him, as if he didn't matter to anyone.
But amidst his despair, a small voice in the back of his mind whispered that perhaps it wasn't too late. Perhaps there was still a chance for someone to remember, to make him feel special on his birthday.
Wiping away his tears, Heeseung stood up on shaky legs and made his way out of the practice room. He didn't know where he was going, only that he needed to be somewhere else, somewhere away from the suffocating emptiness of the practice room.
He wandered aimlessly through the corridors of the building, his mind a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. He passed by other trainees and staff members, but he hardly registered their presence. All he could think about was the fact that no one had remembered his birthday.
Eventually, he found himself outside the dormitory where he and the other members of ENHYPEN lived. He hesitated for a moment, unsure if he should go inside. What if they were all busy or asleep? What if they had truly forgotten about him?
But he couldn't bear the thought of spending the rest of his birthday alone, wallowing in self-pity. So, with a deep breath, he pushed open the door and stepped inside.
The dormitory was quiet, the only sound the faint hum of the air conditioning. Heeseung tiptoed through the living room, not wanting to disturb anyone if they were asleep. But as he made his way down the hallway towards his room, he heard muffled voices coming from the kitchen.
Curious, he peeked around the corner and his heart skipped a beat when he saw his fellow members gathered around the kitchen table, their heads bent together in conversation. He recognized Sunghoon's voice, followed by Jungwon's laughter and Jay's playful banter.
For a moment, Heeseung felt a pang of jealousy. How could they be so carefree, so oblivious to his pain? But then he reminded himself that they were his friends, his brothers. They wouldn't intentionally hurt him, not on purpose.
Summoning up his courage, Heeseung stepped into the kitchen, clearing his throat to announce his presence. The other members turned to look at him, surprise evident on their faces.
"Heeseung, what are you doing here?" Sunghoon asked, concern etched in his features.
Heeseung swallowed hard, trying to steady his nerves. "I... I just wanted to see if anyone wanted to grab dinner together," he replied, trying to sound casual despite the lump in his throat.
The other members exchanged glances, their expressions unreadable. Heeseung's heart sank, his hopes deflating like a balloon pricked by a needle. He should have known better than to expect anything from them, especially after they had forgotten his birthday.
But just as he was about to turn and leave, Sunghoon spoke up, his voice gentle and apologetic. "Actually, Heeseung, there's something we need to tell you."
Heeseung froze, his heart pounding in his chest. Was this it? Was this their way of finally acknowledging his birthday, of making it up to him?
Sunghoon stepped forward, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "We didn't forget your birthday, Heeseung. We were actually planning a surprise for you."
Heeseung's eyes widened in disbelief, his heart skipping a beat. "A surprise? For me?"
Sunghoon nodded, his smile widening into a grin. "Yeah. We wanted to wait until we were all together to celebrate properly."
Before Heeseung could respond, the other members chimed in, each one adding their own words of apology and explanation. They hadn't forgotten his birthday after all; they had been planning a surprise celebration for him all along.
Tears welled up in Heeseung's eyes, but this time they were tears of joy, tears of relief. He couldn't believe that he had doubted his friends, his brothers. They had gone out of their way to make his birthday special, to make him feel loved and appreciated.
With a trembling voice, Heeseung thanked his fellow members, his heart overflowing with gratitude. He didn't need a grand gesture or an extravagant gift; all he needed was the love and support of his friends.
As they gathered around the kitchen table, laughing and joking together, Heeseung couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment wash over him. He was surrounded by people who cared about him, who valued him not just as a leader or a performer, but as a friend.
And as they shared a meal together, Heeseung realized that sometimes, the best surprises were the ones that came from the heart.
In the end, Heeseung's birthday might have started off on a somber note, but thanks to the love and thoughtfulness of his fellow members, it ended on a high note, a day he would always cherish and remember fondly.
From that day forward, Heeseung knew that he would never doubt the bond he shared with his fellow members, a bond that was stronger than any birthday celebration could ever be.
