I sat on my couch, waiting for my friend to come over until I heard my phone ring. I grabbed my phone, expecting to see my friend's name but instead, I saw my mother's name. We haven't talked ever since I moved to the house my grandparents passed on to me. The house was decent but huge, and according to my grandmother, it took the lives of my grandfather and two other workers to finish it. I decided to answer the call to see what my mother had to say, I already knew it was going to be some sarcastic comment about the house, or how I needed to sell it and how it would make her more happy.

When I answered, I was immediately greeted with my mother's bitchy tone. Despite all that my grandmother has done for her, she found it funny to embarrass her, despite the kindness she was given.

"When are you going to move out of the horrendous house, Makayla? Plus, it's hours away from where I live and deep in that forest." My mother complained, I was already annoyed by her. The house was run-down, yes, but all it needed was some remodeling and it would've looked good as new. Besides, I had to take the house because I just couldn't sell it, my childhood was in this home.

"I already told you once, I don't care about its looks and I like being away from people. You can't change my mind." I argued, the annoyance visible in my voice. I knew why she wanted me to sell the house, all she wanted was for me to give her some money so she could just gamble it away. I heard a scoff from my mother, of course, she didn't like my words or tone.

"Oh come on, my bitch of a mother would appreciate it. You would finally be putting that house where it belongs, discarded." She said with a laugh, I knew my mother was a bitch but just hearing her say this made me so... Angry. I took a deep breath to get a hold of myself so I wouldn't go off on my mother, I knew I needed to hang up.

"You know what? Fuck you." I said before hanging up, groaning in annoyance. The more I talk to her, the more my hate towards her grows. It was like she knew what buttons to push just to push me over the edge of madness. I got up from my couch and went to my kitchen, grabbing me a wine glass and a bottle of wine. This was the only way I knew how to cope with my anger, so I poured myself a glass and chugged it down. I sighed, before putting my wine glass down and walked back to my couch, sitting down on it again as I waited for my friend to come.

After around 15 minutes, I heard a knock at my door

After around 15 minutes, I heard a knock at my door. Seems like my friend was finally here, so I went to the door and opened it and I was immediately greeted by my Best Friend's face. We hadn't gone out in a while since I was busy writing my book, but seeing her face after so long made me smile. She had a smile on her face and hugged me, I hugged her back. Of course, her body felt very warm.

"It's good to see you again, Makayla! You look so nice!" She complimented, I couldn't help but smile. She was so sweet, and her personality was what she liked about her as a friend. I lock my door and she then grabs my hand, pulling me towards her car. We had been planning this day for months, and now that I had the time, I could spend the day with her. I got into the passenger seat as she got in the driver's seat, started the car, and drove off.

The drive was full of laughs and giggles, she was telling me about how her week had been and I quietly listened. She was always so joyful around people, and seeing her this happy made me happy too. When she was finished, I decided to tell her how my day was going. of course, I included the convocation between my mother and me, saying how it would be better if I sold the house. She knew my mother was a messed up person, so she understood why I was speaking in such an upset tone. My grandmother was the world to me, she took care of us while my mother was out drinking and gambling. It wasn't surprising that my grandmother was in my life more than my mother has been.

After a good 30-minute drive, we finally arrived at the restaurant. She told me how good the food was and how respectful the workers were. I believed her, of course, she always had better taste in food while I had good style.  We got out of the car and walked into the restaurant, and immediately all the eyes went to us. We both were used to things like this, since I was famous, I would get attention regularly, and since she was always with me, she had gotten used to the staring. Our table was already ready for us and we were guided to our table, the place was nice and away from the people. Just how we both liked it.

We ordered our food and it was given to us, I was a bit hesitant to eat it since I never heard of this restaurant or eaten in it

We ordered our food and it was given to us, I was a bit hesitant to eat it since I never heard of this restaurant or eaten in it. She took a deep breath before picking up her fork and eating some of the food, her eyes widened in surprise.  The food was so... good. I continued to eat my food at a quick pace, savoring every bite of it.

"Slow down! Jeez, I don't want you to choke anything." She said with a giggle, but I knew she was serious so I did slow down while eating.  After we finished eating, we paid for the food and left, we got back in her car and began to head back to my house. Today was the best day she had in a while, she was happy she sent it with her friend. When she was dropped back off, she changed into more comfortable clothing and lay down on her bed.
