My attack began at a mental hospital, I blew it up into smithereens, killing everyone inside. I swept through each floor carefully, making sure I collected every last one of their broken souls. I finally reached the top floor, where I sensed one lone survivor trembling in fear.
I navigated through the desolate halls of the mental hospital, the scent of smoke clung to the air, searing my throat. My pace quickened, determined to uncover the final victim who I suspected to be at the end of the hallway. I made my steps slow and deliberate to instill fear in the person, I thrive off fear, and it makes me more powerful.
As I approached the end of the hallway, shadows danced ominously on the decaying walls. A faint sound echoed, a desperate whimper revealing the presence of the last survivor. The flickering light revealed a figure huddled in the corner, their eyes wide with terror. I continued my deliberate approach, revelling in the fear that surrounded me. A sinister grin crept across my face as I raised my hands; a growing warmth enveloped them until, unexpectedly, flames burst forth, casting an eerie glow. I looked back at the lone survivor who was now hiding his face in his hands.
Without hesitation, I consumed them in a swift blaze; their screams were silenced beneath a shroud of crimson fire. Just as I prepared to ignite the remainder of the building, distant police sirens echoed, prompting my swift departure. Racing at the speed of light to my 'house,' I flicked on the news, anticipating their coverage of my latest attack. My excitement peaked when they teased new murders, but it quickly deflated as they shifted to a different story. This enigmatic, mysterious murderer guy keeps snatching away my spotlight, Each time I pull off a crime, he just has to outdo me with something even wilder. I'm in the dark about who this mysterious one-upper is, so I've made it my lifelong goal to find out. The problem is, I don't know where to start.
Intrigued by this mysterious killer, I began to etch out a list of his patterns, only to realize he seemed to be attacking in any random order. But as I began to connect the dots, I realized a small pattern in his murderers, they seemed to be in a sort of circle shape. So using common knowledge, I pinpointed the exact point at which his next attack should take place. I was going to get there before him, and finally find out who this elusive figure is.
I wasted no time in exacting my revenge, I got there faster than a blink, but not fast enough as when I got there, visible bloody handprints were covering each window, and there were bricks scattered widespread within the area. My immediate thought was that maybe he was still inside. I forcibly kicked one of the walls down and swiftly proceeded to comb through the entire residence. I was on the verge of giving up when I saw a tall, humanoid silhouette sitting on the rooftop through the glass. I carefully manoeuvred my way up, but as I peeked my head out, he was gone.
I stumbled back home, the weight of defeat heavy on my shoulders. I looked at the map, marking out all his future attacks, there seemed to be 3 more until the circle was completed. Knowing I had a limited amount of time, I hastily constructed a game plan. I had to be quicker than him, but I wasn't quite sure how. Days passed since his last attack and I was getting increasingly anxious. I walk by the house every day, hoping to see him killing some ill-failed soul in the window. But nothing, everything was completely silent, I was too on edge to murder, so I hadn't been able to take any souls. As a result, I've grown weaker, so even if I did find this eccentric individual, I had no hope of fighting him at all.
I couldn't bear the stress anymore and went on a rampage. In the dead of night, I killed anyone unlucky enough to be within my line of sight. Blood soaked the pavement, and the air was saturated with the aroma of blood. I could feel the energy reverting within me, I was finally myself again.
I walked home satisfied and switched on the news, hoping to hear about my little endeavour. But my face went pale when I heard the words that were spoken. 'Attack on local bar leaves 25 injured and 12 dead.' He was right there, under my nose. The one night I didn't give my full attention to the house, he seized the opportunity to blow it up. The were now only 2 opportunities left to get my fame back and be known as the greatest killer once again.
