Writers note- TW for mention of death! Also some cursing.
Taken back by the sudden question, the two sat in silence for a moment. "You don't have to answer it, by any means-" Frey started, but was quickly cut off. "My parents," Ember paused. "The King and Queen aren't as..great as people might think" She finished and nuzzled her nose between her knees. Frey had all sorts of questions, but kept them to herself. She sensed that it would be the end of that conversation.
Ember stood up suddenly, and at the abrupt movement Frey did the same. "Well, I must get home." Ember affirmed. "Okay" Frey added, looking down at the green grass below her, knowing she will have to return to that dreadful village once again; but as she was in a trance of sorrow, her spirits were lifted up. "How about we do this again tomorrow? Same place?" Ember delivered. Frey looked up and the two young girls met each other's eyes. Frey had red, crimson colored eyes while Embers were light blue; almost like the snow falling in winter.
"Okay." Frey added once again, but this time with more enthusiasm. "Well, see you then, Frey." Ember said as she turned around and placed her hands in front of her. The orange haired princess started to walk away over the green hill on the green grass, and before she knew it, Ember was out of sight.
A green haired boy came running toward Frey before stopping to catch his breath. "Frey, we need to get home, it's getting late. I've been looking everywhere for you!" The boy said and the sudden noise made Frey turn around. She chucked. "Oh my word Conner, I wasn't even out here for that long." She said sarcastically before rolling her eyes, before taking note that the sky had turned gradient of purple, pink, and orange. The sun was setting, and the moon was taking its turn to light up the world.
"C'mon, Frey!" Conner choked out, still catching his breath. His sister chuckled once more and hit him on the head as she ran past him. "Race you home!" Frey laughed out. "Hey, not fair! I just ran all the way here!" Freys brother blurted out in frustration, but gave into his sister's game anyway. As the two chased after each other, their faces lit up with genuine excitement, laughter, and nostalgia. But nothing lasts forever.

"Shit-" Frey grimaced as she opened her eyes, realizing she zoned out for too long. She looked around her and was relieved. Her soldiers were still alive and fighting. As she stood there, a soldier in white armor went for an attack, but someone blocked it. The sudden clink of armor made the green haired girl turn around, freed from her trance once again. On the floor below her lay a soldier in grey, a sword striking their stomach. Overtaken by rage, Frey struck her sword into the soldier in white in front of her, and screamed out an order to the rest of the grey soldiers. "KEEP ADVANCING, DO NOT STOP NO MATTER THE COST!"
This new profound anger made it easier to get through the quarter of white soldiers in front of her. Not only her, but the alive and well soldiers in grey as well. The lot of them had defeated the first hoard of Lendorr soldiers in the matter of two hours, though they had been easily outnumbered in the first place.
"You're just like your parents in battle, you know that?" A middle aged man said standing beside Frey, not minding the bodies in white armor at his feet. "Well, Commander Arwan, I think you fight like a kangaroo." Frey joked as she nudged the man beside her. "And cocky too.." Arwan trailed off. The two and the rest of the soldiers in grey armor behind them looked ahead. Hundreds upon hundreds of Lendorr soldiers stood in their way for the castle. Frey looked up in a maniacally hopeful expression.Though there were thousands of soldiers in front of her, what Frey was really here for..
Was to kill the Queen and King of Lendorr.
