Mabel's POV -I woke with a low groan and stretched my arms languidly above my head. I sat up slowly, still fully aware that I had a random dog in my house somewhere.
At least I wasn't mauled in my sleep last night. Silver linings and all that.
I smiled to myself despite the situation I was in, how was I going to go about finding this poor dogs owner? I hummed deeply in my throat as i reached up and rubbed my eyes.
Only once all my senses slowly came back to me, my body finally waking up, I heard the low rumble of a masculine snore... I paused, dragging my eyes slowly to the direction of the noise, my heart stuttering in my chest.
Next to me lay Noah, fucking Noah.
I screamed in shock and tumbled off the side of the bed, smacking my head against the wooden floor. The snoring stopped as soon as the screech left my mouth and I heard a shocked gasp come from my bed. My eyes were wide as I waited for something to happen.
Noahs head popped over the side of the bed, looking down at me with a sheepish look on his face, but then he caught the shimmering tears in my eyes and he reached out towards me looking suddenly desperate to hold me.
I flinched away from his hand and he whined lowly in his chest, and though I was confused how he had made the noise I was more focused on the fact that Noah was somehow in my bed. A naked Noah in my bed.
Was he secretly a serial killer or stalker and broke into my home to terrorize me and the dog? Oh god, I shot up from the floor, the dog! I frantically sprinted out the room looking for the poor pooch, I swear to God if Noah did anything to the dog I would strangle him.
"Come here doggie," I listened for the clicking of paws, when no noise came a sob burst from my chest in horror.
The only sound echoing around my house was the sound of bare feet slapping against my floor, Noah burst into the living room looking frightened, "please Mabel, hear me out," he had wrapped my blanket around his middle to conceal his nudity, though his strong upper body was on show and it only helped me realise how strong he was compared to me.
I couldn't fight him off if it came to it, though I would give it a good go.
He held his hands out in front of him non-threateningly, "baby please, calm down. If you can sit down for me? I can explain everything, I'm not going to hurt you. I would never hurt you. Please believe me, my honey."
My hands shook at my sides and I made no move to sit down, I didn't want to take a vulnerable stance, "Noah," my voice was firm despite my nerves, "what the ever-loving fuck are you doing in my house? and what have you done to that sweet dog," I hiccuped at the end of my sentence, showing just how scared I was.
He stuttered slightly, "the dog? Well baby you see..." he paused and I held my breath, "Goddess, I've never had to explain this before... Okay, well I am the dog."
A hysterical laugh bubbled out of me and I clapped my hands over my mouth to stop the insane noise, "be real Noah, I will call the police," I pointed an accusing finger at him.
He shuffled on his feet, "if you don't believe me, I understand, I think I would be concerned if you did believe me." he seemed to quickly contemplate something for a quick second, "I can show you if youd prefer? If it would help you believe me, hm?"
I rolled my eyes and spread my arms in front of me, "be my guest Noah, go on and turn into a dog!"
He gave me a stiff nod and a small smile, almost as if he was trying to reassure me. I melted a small bit but I tried to remind myself that I had a fucking psycho in my living room who thought he was a dog.
My thoughts were interrupted by a sharp snap, my head shot up and my eyes caught his, mine round with shock and his squinted with pain that he was quite obviously, desperately trying not to let me see.
I gasped and my jaw dropped as I watched his bones rearrange, snapping and cracking. His body kept bending at odd angles and brown fur sprouted from his skin. I cringed away from the horrific scene, it looked like something from a horror film.
"Shit Noah, stop this right now, i don't like this at all!" I was - at this point - hysterical. My breaths came in pants and my lungs rattled as i tried to heave air into them.
I looked away from the scene in front of me and clasped a hand to my chest, still desperately trying to just breathe.
This isn't happening, this isn't fucking real.
An animalistic whine came from in front of me and the sound of nails clicked hurriedly across the floor, where i hadn't realised i was my lying.
White socks. Brown fur. A wet nose pressed against my cheek.
Noah was a dog... No, wolf. A werewolf! Like a hand on heart Twilight type werewolf.
I had always been team Jacob but this was taking it a step too far!
a low pure started in Noah chest and he lay his head against my stomach, the purr vibrating me. I was soothing and after a small while my breathing evened out and i gasped air into my lungs like a fish.
Even after i reassured myself that i wasn't going to die due to lack of oxygen i stayed lay on the floor, my mind buzzing, trying to come up with an explanation as to what just happened.
I sat up slowly, rubbing my temples softly as Noah's head nudged my hand away from my face, i guessed to try and see how i was coping with it all.
Not very fucking well, i could tell him that much.
"Okay Noah, i believe you, but you need to wrap this up now and change back into a human, i have some questions to ask you."
