"Long ago, in the faraway land of ancient Greece, there was a golden age of powerful gods, extraordinary heroes, and battles. And the greatest and strongest of all these heroes was the mighty Hercules and powerful Goddess Eris."
The Narrator, Bob, shows two Greek vases. One with a picture of Hercules fighting a monster. The other is with Eris sitting on a throne of the Underworld.
"But what is the measure of a true hero? What is the measure of true responsibility? Ah, that is what our story is-"
"Will you listen to him?" Thalia asked the other Muses on the vase, interrupting Bob. She grabs the handheld mask from Melpomene and holds it to her face, "He's makin' the story sound like some Greek tragedy."
"Lighten up, dude," Terpsichore said.
"We'll take it from here, darling," Calliope told him.
"You go, girl," Bob said, leaving the Muses to continue with the story.
Music begins and the Muses dance to the beat before starting the story.
"We are the Muses. Goddesses of the arts and proclaimers of the heroes," Calliope said.
"Heroes like Hercules!" Terpsichore said, fanning herself.
"Honey, you mean 'Hunk-ules'," Thalia corrected before sliding down to the picture of Hercules on the vase and cuddling up next to him, "Ooh, I'd like to make some sweet music with him-"
"Our story, actually, begins long before Hercules and Eris, many eons ago..." Calliope interrupted before walking down the vase and singing with the other muses behind her, "Back when the world was new, the planet Earth was down on its luck. And everywhere gigantic brutes, called 'Titans' ran amok!"
The titans on the vase animated and created destruction, resulting in pieces of the vase falling off.
"It was a nasty place! There was a mess wherever you stepped," Thalia sang as she stepped over the broken pieces.
"Where chaos reigned and earthquakes and volcanoes never slept!" Calliope sung.
"Ooh, sing it, girl!" Thalia cheered.
"And then along came Zeus!" The Muses sang together as Zeus appeared on the vase.
"He hurled his thunderbolt," Calliope sang.
Zeus threw a lightning bolt, and it hit the Titans.
"He zapped!" The Muses sang together.
The lightning bolt created a hold under the Titans on the vase, and they fell in. Bars, fabricated from the lighting, cover the hole, preventing the Titans from escaping.
"Locked those suckers in a vault!" Thalia sang.
"They're trapped!" The Muses sang, "And on his own stopped chaos in its tracks. And that's the gospel truth! The guy was too type-A to just relax!"
"And that's the world's first dish," Terpsichore sang.
"Yeah, baby," Thalia said.
The Muses stand in front of a vase depicting Zeus standing atop the world with a lightning bolt in his right hand.
"Zeus tamed the globe while still in his youth," Melpomene sang.
"Though, honey, it may seem impossible. That's the gospel truth!" The five Muses sang.
The Muses appeared in front of a dish depicting Mt. Olympus. The top of the mountain pierced through the clouds surrounding it.
"On Mount Olympus, life was neat and smooth as sweet vermouth. Though, honey, it may seem impossible. That's the gospel truth!"
