Duela comes back to town after the Gotham Knights split up after Turners death to mourn. In the night, Duela is fighting off some Mutants and found out she can't take them on her own. There's just too many, and she's too tired to keep going. One of the Mutants aims a gun at her. Just before they pull the trigger, a batarang flies out from the mist, disarming the mutant. Robin is here! Robin takes on the Mutants with some of her gadgets as Duela stands back and watches. Once Robin defeats them all, she looks over in the mist.
Duela has her hands up... "Hey Carrie." Duela says with a tone of awkwardness.
Carrie doesn't know who this is. The fog from the explosives are blocking her view. "Did you just call me "Carrie"?"
Duela walks out from the mist with her hands still up with this smirk on her face. "Please. I know you still remember me, Little Bird. It hasn't been THAT long."
Carries face lights up and immediately rushes over to Duela to give her a big hug. "You're you! You're back!"
Duela is uncomfortable by this hug. She doesn't hug back and she stands there awkwardly. "Woah. Okay, uh..."
Carrie doesn't wanna let go. "I've missed you so much! I haven't seen you since... since..." Carries energy in her voice quickly saddens. She pulls out of the hug.
"Yeah... I know..." Duela empathizes. "And I also had some things to sort out with Harley Quinn." Now upset.
"Harley Quinn?" Carrie worries. "Wait, what, where..." Carrie pauses
Duela snickers a bit with this smirk. "Yeah, she kidnapped me."
"She WHAT!?" Carrie worries more.
"Yeah, she kidnapped me, choked me out a few times, and had me work for her because I'm the closest thing to Joker after his death. But it's not like she wanted to date me or anything because she's like 40, and I'm a young adult... I hope." Duela widens her eyes to herself in a little concern to her own statement.
Carrie cups Duela's face. "Duela..."
"Yeah little Bird?" Duela looks down at Carrie with some light in her eyes.
Carrie stays concerned. "Did she hurt you?"
Duela empathizes again with Carrie. "... Yeah... But we were just as strong and difficult to eachother, it was like fighting a clone."
"You fought her!?" Carries eyes widen.
Showing no concern, Duela replies with, "Duh. How else do you think I got away?"
"I was worried something worse had happened..." Carrie's voice is soft.
Duela smiles. "Please. What plan would ACTUALLY work on me?" She makes fun of the situation.
"You said she choked you out a few times..." Carrie stays serious.
Still showing no concern, Duela just brushes off the past. "Yeah, but I'm alive."
Still serious. "But you could've died." Carrie brings up.
Duela keeps smirking. "But I didn't."
"But you could have!" Carrie yells before Duela brings her into a hug. "I'm okay, Little Bird..." Duela reassures as Carrie squeezes her tightly in the hug. "I'm glad..." Carrie replies softly.
The scene fades and they're back at base in the clock tower of the school. Duela is in the mirror, looking at the choke lines on her neck of Harley Quinns doing.
Carrie walks up behind Duela. "Are you okay?"
"That crazy evil bitch." Duela says casually as she keeps looking in the mirror at her neck.
