The zombie apocalypse has come and gone. There are a few of us left, but our numbers are dwindling. Alot of us have no jobs. Take me for example, I used to be a farmer. I still am, sort of, if you call growing very little food, and mostly scrounging around, farming. But I'm happy, don't get me wrong, and it takes my mind off of what happened back then, when the zombies killed almost my entire family. It was during the first horde, we were pretty far from the city, so we were safe. It was during the second horde that things went wrong. We were safe inside the house, but our supplies were rapidly dwindling, wonderful time to start the apocalypse, in winter and while my mother was pregnant. My father went out to try to find some food, that's when they got him, leaving behind my mother, two brothers, and me. Soon after that, my mother went into labor. Marcus, who was seventeen, delivered the baby, and I, being the only girl at the time, had to get my hand crushed by my mother. Michael who was twelve at the time, was probably in some room crying. Our last edition to the family was little Dinah. She looked like a perfect mix between Marcus and I. She had dark brown eyes that I inherited from mama, and curly auburn hair that only Marcus got from Papa. Just hours after Dinah, Mama died. We both knew it was going to happen, she nearly died when she tried to push Michael out. When Dinah was a little over four months, the third and last horde came. we had barely any supplies left, Marcus went out to find us some food. He came back with a few months worth of food, but not before getting bitten, and we had stop stop him, leaving me to be a "single" mother at fifteen. Just after the fourth horde, the soldiers cut down the number of zombies. All that was about three years ago, Michael is now fifteen and helps me with the "farming". Dinah, who is only three, usually stays at the daycare. This is how we live now, a bent and cracked family but still whole and still together. That is how it will stay, until the end.
