1922, in the year 1922 the USSR finally got it's independence from the Russian empire, the leader of the USSR back then was still Vladimir lenin, Joseph Stalin didn't led govern it until 1924, when Vladimir lenin died when he was 53 years old because of stroke, Also if u didn't believe me seriously just go ask google he died because of the disease of stroke in 1924.
