The trace of morning light graced its golden presence into the tight space of a snug house on a little bustling city street. All seemed quiet at this hour, though swiftly, like the light entering the window, people too would fill the busy streets.

Within the tight room, if it could even be called that, for in truth, it was more of a closet with a clouded window looking outside and bed snuggly fit into it. Leaving no ground space, shelves stationed above left the occupant a place to leave her meager things. Like the room, the delicate lady too matched the space as she easily fit well, covering herself with two thick blankets to survive the winter's cold nights. This tiny place was her sanctuary, made to fit just for her.

Soon bumps from above removed dust that had clung to the wooden ceiling. It plummeted onto the face of the petit damsel. She squinted, sputtering out the horrid taste that had entered her mouth. Muttering to herself, she scrunched up in a ball while contemplating the need to leave her warm domain under the covers. Finally, she shot forth, quickly wrapping herself with a rather ornate shawl. Being a seamstress, she always dressed better for little cost to herself. They were some unneeded scraps after her sewing projects were done. The rich cared not for the extras, only the finished product, so what she was left with was used to its full potential.

Jumping out of bed and cramped room, her feet landed on the cool floor of the hallway. Shifting for her slippers and socks next to the door briskly, her lulled, sleepy self returned as she lumbered down the cramped hall stretching and yawning all the while. Shouts of young boys, a few pots cooking, and a few girls were heard about the place though she paid no mind to the chaos she approached. The kitchen, cramped much like the rest of the building, warmed her as food was well underway for the day's holiday celebrations.

"Tyne dear, did you sleep well? You never do take a day off and leave so early all the time, I hope you got to catch up on your sleep," a middle aged woman called out, though her focus was primarily on meal preparation.

The little lady let out a grin as she yawned then responded, "Oh I think I slept too much mother, but I liked it all the same," she then stopped and added, "Here mother let me help you! There is so much to do before we head out!"

Being the oldest, Tyne was very much used to being needed to help. Especially with a family of three girls, including herself and nine younger brothers, all beaming with energy. Though she worked as a full-time seamstress to help support the family, she still helped at home when she could. Her mother glanced over as Tyne took charge over a pot of soup, dicing the ingredients for it with years of practice. A grin laced her mother's face that softened with thoughts that came along.
