AARVA'S POV

After a long hectic month I will be finally going to take a month leave from my never ending busy schedule. Finally I will be going back to India after two fucking years.I had to work overtime the entire month to get this leave.

Being a cardiologist is not every body's cup of tea. But yeah it's not even that difficult, what you have to do is just study your ass off no matter what may it be, day or night.

After a long day I was all ready to leave the hospital and go back to my apartment, but just before I could leave I saw a nurse running towards me and calling my name she was panting heavily she took a deep breath and told me that there was an emergency case. I quickly ran along with her even though my shift was over, the patients life is more important right now then anything else .

I reached near the patient and got to know that it was a serious case. The patient was a old man in his late seventies who had got heart attack for the second time.

"Call Dr. Josh! Noww! Tell him that it's a very serious case" I ordered one of the nurse.

"But doctor ,he's out of country he will be landing back tomorrow ."

I had almost forgot that our senior most doctor, Dr Josh was on leave and Dr. Andrew is also not present now in the hospital. Now I have to attend this surgery alone because if we wait even a minute more anything can happen and I can't risk a patients life.

"Take the patient into the OT right now !! and get ready for surgery" I ordered.

While I was getting ready for the surgery, I was a bit nervous. Not because I had to attend the surgery alone or because I was not capable of doing it. I was confident enough that I can handle it all alone. Its because of the critical condition of the patient, the chances are low.

"Doctor every thing is ready and the patient is also been shifted in the OT". The nurse told me.

"Yes , I'm coming. Did the patients family member do the formalities?"I asked her to which she replied yes

I was ready to attend the surgery. Before I entered the OT I took a long breathe and said to my self "I can do it and I will do it!". It's is my all time favourite mantra it helps me alot and even that my remaining nervousness flew away.

After a long 5 hours surgery the patient was finally out of danger, we had saved the patient. The patient could breath again. It was for the very first time I was attending the surgery alone without any guidance of a senior doctor and, I DID IT! .

Even all the nurse's and junior doctors worked very hard. Even if I was capable to perform this surgery, without them it wouldn't have been possible.

After everything was done I quickly left the OT. I changed my clothes from scrubs to my normal clothes and left the hospital to go back to my apartment.
