A week passed, and Y/N are breakfast with Narkis. She was the same age as many of the destroyers used by the nations, But she was insecure. Which was expected since Y/N in his previous life had abandoned the design. So as you can imagine, Narkis was skittish to say the least.

She didn't really go out because the now 20 Horizons, excluding Y/N looked down on her. The only Kansen apart from Y/N that didn't look down on her was Arethusa. As for Y/N, while the man was her father, she feared he'd abandon the design again. So she was both clingy and emotionally distant.

Y/N halfway regretted bringing an older design into existence as a shipgirl, but he needed her for the purpose of intercepting surface combatants. Like a Horizon class Corvette, the Narkis class were meant for coastal patrol duties. And given he had plans for expansion, he needed the faster but smaller Narkis class to defend interests on the shore, and to provide security to oil platforms near shore.

he was going to have to have a chat with her. Turning to his daughter, Y/N said to her, "we're taking a walk."

Scene Change

She seemed in a better mood once they had gone out. He took her to get ice cream. She enjoyed it, however, Y/N couldn't quite figure out how to fix the problem with her. Arethusa soon saw them and saw the young girl with Y/N as she came up and said, "Y/N. Who's this with you?"

"This is the predecessor to my own vessel called Narkis. Like me, she's the lead vessel of her class," said Y/N.

Arethusa knelt down, and the girl stepped forward. "Hey there. I'm Arethusa," the cruiser said.

Scene Change

The two shipgirls walked the town as Narkis stayed close to the cruiser. The Girl's mood had lifted as she walked with the cruiser. Heading down to the port, Arethusa looked at the rows of Corvettes. So far she saw just over two dozen surface combatants docked. So far, the fleet tonnage of the MWC was 45,600 tons with 32 Corvettes. While this was comparable in displacement to a fast battleship, the major difference was a combined VLS cells capacity of 1,280 cells.

Another thing caught the attention of Arethusa: submarines. Going up, she saw they were the same length of a Narkis, but the sail was forward, and they had a raised deck midships. The most striking feature was a new teardrop shaped hull. Unknown to the cruiser, these were actually nuclear-electric guided missile submarines.

What made them nuclear was the use of thorium based Radio votaic cells (nuclear batteries) that charged lead acid batteries----giving them unlimited range. Only trouble was if the nuclear batteries leaked, they'd give the crew cancer. So as you can imagine, few volunteered as crew.

Arethusa wowed as she rushed up to the boats. Narkis tugged at Arethusa as she said, "would you like to see my ship?"

A/N: well folks, that's a wrap. And interesting to note that the atomic battery has been a thing since 1913. Surprised they didn't use it for submarines IRL.

Of course, there are a few reasons: they're expensive. Plus isotopes are rare. But nuclear reactors are far more dangerous and expensive, so I'm at a loss to figure out why the atomic battery wasn't used for submarines. It'd be ideal.

Also what you all think of the new girl Narkis? I think I did well for her writing her personality. Given  Y/N went back and forth with that vessel before discontinuing it is why she's like the way she is, plus I made her be his daughter due to the fact he invented the design.

The IRL counterpart was a concept vessel to address the needs of countries who need an up to date Navy, but can't quite afford good ships. However what led to me turning to other designs is her inability to do power projection for reasons of a lot of power in her that drinks fuel down as fast as you your favorite drink on a hot day.

While she'd be great for missile defense, her range and 60 hour endurance at 30 knots means she cannot do trans Atlantic crossings.

However, many island nations in the Pacific though, she would actually do quite well given naval practice there is mainly coastal patrols, and protection of economic zones. I find learning about such places very interesting. Very rich history, and very interesting foods and cultures

Would this ship be good for your country's navy? I am curious to know.

In other news, I'm returning to work on my other books and originals. As for my crossovers, a few I actually do crossovers with my own originals. Fanfictions where I have my own characters.

What can I say? I'm a junkie for giving my readers an interesting experience.

I also have things to attend to IRL so there is going to be a slight slowing of chapters coming out.

Thanks all of you for reading and have a very safe day.
