(Beep...beep...beep...Beep) Makayla's phone goes off. 6am. I roll out of bed from a summer of activities from dawn to midnight. I head to the bathroom to brush my teeth, bathe, put on my outfit for the day and style my hair. Just as I was brushing my teeth my mom pops in to check on me.
"Good morning, Maya" mom says
That's what she calls me in short for Makayla, its a nickname my whole family calls me.
"Good morning, mam" I say
"Breakfast is ready down stairs when you're ready." She says
Mom is very excited about my first day of high school, don't get me wrong I'm excited too, but i'm nervous since we had moved during the summer and I'm going to a completely different school.
" I'll be their in a minute" I say a little shakily.
Downstairs I walk in the kitchen and sit down at the table. Mom sets the plates of toast, bacon, eggs and the glasses of orange juice on the table and sits in the chair in front of me.
"So....Are you excited?" Asks mom full of joy
"About what? " I say dum- foundedly
"Your first day, of course" Replies mom
"Kinda" I reply back
"What do you mean....Kinda?" Mom asks me
"Well I'm excited but, I'm nervous, I don't know anybody their." I reply
"I understand , but maybe the move wasn' t such a bad thing, maybe its like.....when its storming badly outside and just around the corner there's a beautiful rainbow glistening in the sunlight. You know there are some good things that come out of the things that seem bad." My mother is the type of mother who uses idioms in a lot of situations.
I think about what my mom said about things appearing bad and are sometime decieveful and can actually be good, great even as my mom says  driving me to school. We roll up in front of the entrance and my mom puts her gear in parking.
"Don't worry about a thing, I know you're going to make great friends here and smile because today's gonna be great."  mom says reassuringly "Bye" I say with a little worry shaking in my words." I love you" she says to me. "I love you too!" I say back "See you later, alligator" my mom says. My mom and I  do this regularly for first days of school. I smile and reply back "After while, crocodile" I wave goodbye as my mom drives off of the street and is out of sight. I make my way up the steps leading to the school entrance, as I do another car drive up in the space my mom was just in. In the old faded green car was a foster child name Sierra who was adopted by a man named Jefferson Jones McHale mostly know as Jeff. He was.... Well he..... You'll see......
"Bye Mr. McHale" says Sierra
"Wait!" calls Jeff
"Sir?" Asks Sierra
"How many times do I have to tell you its Jeff that's it Nada nothing else, not Mr. Jeff, Mr. McHale and don't even try Pa pa on for size. I've told you a million times its Jeff that's all, K?. K!" Says Jeff angrily and stressed out.
"K." replys Sierra
"K?.... Its Sir!" He said scowling her
"Yes sir!" Sierra said with fear in her eyes. She remembers the first time she came home with him he gave her a blanket and his dead cats old bed which smelled of rotten fish. She was glad to have this because her last foster parents treated her like a dog, literally. She shared a dog house with there poorly fed cat; Mittens. She had no food except the little scraps they fed to the dog/ cat. So now she lives with Jeff a 35 year old man who spends time gambling, drinking beer, watch sports and smoking a cigar every morning like today.
"And another thing I have business to take care of (gambling again;[surprising he has any money to buy food])
And I won't be home when you get there, so start cooking dinner for me when you get home." He gives me actual human food to eat  unlike them my previous foster parents.
"Where are you going?" Ask Sierra
"That is none of your beeswax, girl!" Hollers Jeff
A limo rolls up behind them and began to honk, so Jeff decides to give the driver a good talking to. After Jeff exchanged words with the driver, he came back in the car and said......
"What are you waiting for? Christmas? GET OUT MY CAR!"
Sierra gets out and closes the car door.......
"Don't slam my door, girl. You got money to repair my door you almost took off of the hinges? Do ya?" Ask Jeff
"No sir" Sierra replied
And with that she walk up the steps, through the doors. Meanwhile outside Jeff finally decided to move, and went speeding down the street. It wasn't to far down the street before a cop was chasing after him. In the limo,Mr. and Mrs. Washington and Lily their only daughter. Mr. And Mrs. Washington had high hopes for their daughter, even though they hired tutors, professors, classy coaches, drama teachers, and many others to make sure she had been well trained Rather than train her themselves they worked.
"Do you got everything?" Ask her butler. Her parents were so busy they asigned other people such as the butler to ensure everything was in order. "Yes!" Lily said rushing.
"Book bag?"
"Yes!"
"Make up bag?"
"Yes!"
"Textbooks?"
"Yes!"
Of course their are fancier names for the way expensive things lily has but she and the butler just call them the simpler names. After the whole list of things and going over her schedule. She was released from the limo. She waved the butler good bye. Inside Makayla got her notebook and pencils out her locker and headed for class: English. When she ran into two other girls.......
"Owwwww!" They all said
As they look to see who they had run into they all began to laugh except Sierra.
"Let me give you a hand" Makayla said extending her hand out to Lily and Sierra. Only Lily excepted her help.
Sierra on the other hand...
"I've got it" Sierra said
"Thanks" says Lily
As they head to class a strange force was placed in the air and when they separated their necklaces a glistening White Diamond, a lively Turquoise Emerald and a swirling red and Yellow Ruby all glowed.
In Languages art, Makayla claimed a sit in the back, that was right beside the door. Class had began like every first day: introductions.....
"Hi I'm Mr. Barry your English teacher, today we will be doing introductions"
"Hi my name is James Floyd, I'm a descendant of the irish and my favorite sport is Baseball."
"Nice to meet you Mr. Floyd"
"My name is Clara Anderson, I love sculpting, drawing, and Language arts is my favorite subject."
"I love language arts that's why I became a teacher, its nice to have  student who really enjoy it. Nice to meet you Mrs. Anderson" says Mr.Barry
It isn't long before its my turn and I make the most embarrassing intro.
"Hi my name is Makayla Jones and I ....like to....um.....I ...uh...I ...like ...to.....uh... Read" I say then regret it afterwards.
"What's your favorite book?" He ask me and me only.
Iiiii......uh.....James and the Giant peach? I say more asking then saying
"Oh a very interesting pick, Mrs. Jones"
"Uh....Thank You?" I say puzzled
As Mr. Barry continues to do intros I just think about what I said and how I said it. In Math class Sierra sat in one of the dark corner desk and daydreamed. Class had begun 10 minutes early and Sierra was still daydreaming. Suddenly Mrs. Gordon had got her yard ruler and tapped Sierra on her head.
"Huh?!?What?!?!" Sierra exclaimed
"Nice to have you here on planet earth with us here today, wouldn't want you missing out on our activity." Says Mrs. Gordon
In Math class we play a introduction game, and guess who gets to start it off? Me!
"Hi my name is Sierra Madison, I have 0 pets, 1 Guardian, 2 hands equaling a total of 3."
Next,
"The names Dylan, I have 2 cats, a bulldog,5 trophies on 3 shelves and a mam and papa total to be 10."
"Well I see how you got it but its 19,Dylan but good effort." Say Mrs.Gordon
We all know now who not to pay to do our math homework! Yep.

Meanwhile in science class, more introduction
Today we will start by writing expectations. If you didn't know my name is Mrs. Hudson or you can call me Mrs. H said Mrs. Hudson
The Bell had rong for lunch. On the way Sierra decided to go to the bathroom. Sierra turned on the faucet, she puts her hand under the facet but the water shifted. Making it spray her in the face. Just when Sierra thinks the worst, Lily comes in and sets off the sprinklers. Now Sierra soaked from head to toe. Lily finally sees that her hands are in flames, so she tries to put them out. Unfortunately they don't go out. Then comes Makayla, she doubles their luck and now they are all soak and wet, but at least the fires out. The sprinklers still pour down on them and they think it can't get any worst than this, but it can, a whole lot. One of the teachers has stayed a little longer in her room than the other teachers. She had thought the noise was all in her head but she was so wrong. So she goes to the girls bathroom, and sees 3 girls standing in mist of water showering down on them. She was speechless. The teacher in fact was..........................................
Mrs. Hudson.
