"OH MY GOD!" THE PICTURES WAS TAKEN FROM MY HANDS BEFORE I
even had a chance to look at them, ran away with them. "Trisha!" I yelled as I started to run after her. This girl. "Aarya! Gargi! Come here, I have something to show you!!" She yelled as I finally caught up to her, I tried to grab the pictures but she ducked under my arms as she started to run again. "Give them back!" I started to run after her again. She stopped in her tracks when she saw a mysterious grin on my face. "What are you grinning about?" She asked. "Look behind you." I said. She turned around and there he was- My older brother. Arjun Thakur.
"Bhai, she took the pictures and ran away!" I complained. "I was just looking," She replied in a quiet tone. "Trisha, who has the proposal come for?" He asked. "Naira," she replied. "If she accepts, whose future husbands will they be?" He asked. "Naira's," "Then who should look first?" "Naira." She replied with a sigh. The word husbands rang in my ears. One wife, four husbands. I sighed, sitting on the couch as my hands ran through my hair.
Trisha took the hint, as she placed the pictures of the Grimaldi brothers on the table in front of me and walked away, probably going to find Gargi and Aarya. Arjun took a seat beside me, placing a hand on my shoulder. "So, what do you think?" He asked as a sad chuckle left my mouth. "I haven't even looked at them yet, bhai.." I replied.
"I meant the idea of marrying four husbands. It's been happening for ages in our family. Dadi had two husbands, Dadu had two wives." He said. "I don't know...Wouldn't they all feel weird sharing their wife with their brothers?" I asked. "It's a proposal from their end and I've already checked with them, they don't want you to choose one brother, they have chosen you for all of them. They just want to know if you're happy and comfortable with this marriage or not." He added, "What do you think?" I asked, looking at him.
My brother is the reason I am what I am, and I trust him with my life, I need his opinion on this. "Do you like the idea of your sister marrying four men?" I asked him. "It doesn't matter what I feel...This marriage will be a bridge between Kishanvas and Serenzia.
We can benefit from them, and they us. It's your decision, Naira. We are going to support you no matter what." He stood up and ruffled my hair before walking away.
Me, Naira Thakur, heiress of the ancient village Kishanvas, marrying the princes' of Serenzia- Ciro, Enzo, Luca and Leo. How would it work? Are they being forced into this? Are they okay with this? Do they like me? I was thinking about all these things when I left someone hugging me from behind. Or three someone's. A chuckle left my mouth as I grabbed onto their hands. I made them sit. "Okay, let the opinion's rain." I said.
"Look at the pictures first." Trisha said. "She hasn't seen the pictures yet," Aarya said. "Of course she hasn't, it's Naira we're talking about, she needs to think a hundred times before picking up the damn pictures and looking at them!" Gargi scolded. "Chill!"
My shaky hands reached for the pictures slowly and retracted with light speed. "I can't do it!" I groaned. Laughs echoed in the empty room of the Darbar.
As I sit in the darbar, the Indian courtroom, flanked by my best friends, the room exudes a sense of tradition and anticipation. The intricate patterns on the walls and the rich tapestries envelop the space, reflecting the cultural essence embedded in every detail. The fragrance of incense lingers, creating an atmosphere of reverence that accompanies the weight of the moment.
In one corner, in a wall above my chair an intricately carved idol of Lord Krishna stands as a symbol of divine friendship. I find comfort in the belief that Lord Krishna, my best friend, watches over me, especially during significant moments like these.
