My Brothers Best Friend (Jack Johnson Fanfiction)

Chapter 16

Jack Johnson's POV 

I awoke with The sun shinning through the always dark room, Gilinsky must of opened the blinds. I cant believe it's been nearly 3 years since Mell and I were forced to break up. I don't do much now, I can't, It still hurts without her. Jack and I are friends again now, kind of. I mean we talk and stuff, he's worried about me because I don't get out much. People have been asking questions, so tonight me and Jack are doing an interview to clear a lot of things up.

I flung the covers off my body and made my way to the bathroom. First thing first, I need to shave. I looked in the mirror and saw the stubble covering my cheeks. After I was done I heard a knock at the door.

"Jack? Man you up?" I heard Gilinsky ask.

"Yeah man!" I said making my way out of the bathroom.

"You shaved! Great!" He said patting me on the back. I lightly smiled at him and he let out a frustrated sigh.

"Jesus, Jack! You can't go on like this." He said turning me round to face him.

"Like what?" I asked 

"Like a little lost puppy. You have to build a bridge and get over it!" Jack said to me, a firm grip on my shoulders.

"It's not that simple, Jack! I can't 'build a bridge and get over it'! I loved her, Jack. Hell I still DO LOVE her. I always will love her!" I said angrily. 

I walked out of the room and out of our house in LA, I didn't know where I was going I just knew I had to get away from him for a wee while.

He doesn't get it I love Mellisa and him and his mum took her from me. I just wish I could get her back. I walked for a while, I ended up at the beach. It reminded me of the first day of Magcon when me and Mell came down to the beach. It was kind of where I properly admitted to her how I felt. I felt the hot tears fall down my cheeks. 

I sat at the beach all day until the sky was pink and the sun was kissing the water. I felt a presence beside me, I turn my head to see Jack.

"I'm sorry, Jack" He sighed. I quickly wiped the tears of my face so he wouldn't see.

"For what?" I asked 

"For everything. You and Mell would still be together If I didn't react the way I did and I'm sorry" He said 

"It's fine, Jack. I just- I just can't move on. I know you hate it but I just love her too much" I said looking out to the water.

"I know, But I see what it's doing to you and I hate myself for hurting you this way." he says to me

"but there's nothing that can be done now" I sigh

"Yes there is. After the interview tonight I say we book tickets and fly back to Nebraska so you can admit to Mell how you still feel!" He said. A huge smile spread over my face as I hugged Jack Tightly.

"Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Jack! This is Amazing!" I said jumping up from the sand. "so what are we waiting for the interview starts soon.!"

We made our way to the place where the interview was being held and they took us to the set type thing where it would take place. They told us to take our seats as it would be starting soon.

About half way through the interview and everything is going well so far, we've had fan questions and now the interviewer guy is asking more questions. He turns to me.

"Jack Johnson?" He says

"Yeah" I respond

"This is a picture of your serious ex girlfriend Mellisa, am I right?" He says looking at a picture of Mellisa on the screen.

"Yes..." I nod unsure, looking at Gilinsky.

"We saw her out today at the park with your guys' daughter. She's adorable. How old is she?" he said pointing to another picture of Mellisa and a little girl Who... looked ... just... like ... me...

"Daughter?" I questioned. My face turned white, my mouth hung agape. I looked at Gilinsky and he looked shocked too. Daughter? I can't- we? Oh my god...

"His-Their daughter? That would be my niece?" He stuttered. 

We didn't know what to say or do. I have a daughter, Mell and I have a daughter, Jack has a niece that none of us knew about. The interview was quickly ended as the guy realized what had happened.

 I sat on the chair unable to move. Everything was just spinning, then It all went black.
