Episode 4 - I'm Sorry

The days passed with a mix of sorrow for Miss Anderson's loss and uncertainty about the ongoing adjustments to life within Glynne under Archie's leadership. Dan and his friends found themselves participating in various tasks assigned by Archie, from fortifying defenses to scavenging for supplies. Despite the challenging circumstances, a semblance of routine emerged, and the group began to adapt to the new normal. Stinkapoo, who's ankle was still injured but slowly healing, contributed where he could, and Rose remained a source of support for him, the two leaned on each other more than ever. Lily, Colin, and Ethel had worked tirelessly to ensure the safety of the entrance gate and all defenses around the school while Fluff, Rubin, and Audgrey continued their efforts in scavenging, taking any supplies they could find no matter what it was. Even the four leaders had begun to start stepping up recently, believe it or not. A busy day is planned for today however, as Dan and Charlie will be starting to get the grips of learning to use a bow and arrow. Mike decided to step up to the occasion to teach them instead of going off and smoking weed. A bow and arrow could prove to be a very useful weapon in the new world. Also, believe it or not, Archie is stepping up too, he, Lily and Rose are going to be tackling the caretakers house which is just on the outskirts of Glynne, it's overrun by the undead and really needs securing. There's sure to be lots of tools and supplies within there that could help the group out a lot. Despite Stinkapoo's injury, he will be helping Rubin to gather more wood and supplies for the new campfire area which is going to be implemented on the field. Colin and Ethel will be reinforcing the defenses at Glynne's entrance. Fluff and Audgrey will be patrolling around the perimeter, keeping alert for any danger. Jenny and Daurine will be in the basement, organising and cataloging all supplies as the basement is going to be turned into the supply room. But the dynamic within Glynne was still tense however, with underlying distrust and discomfort lingering between Archie's group and Dan's friends. Yet, they pressed on, driven by the need for security and the hope of creating a safer haven. As they all navigated the challenges, one question loomed: how long could this uneasy alliance last, and what would the future hold for Dan's group within the walls of Glynne?

Stinkapoo was the last to wake up, he was greeted by a smiling Rose, "Goodmorning sleepyhead!". Stinkapoo was still half asleep, he rubbed his eyes, "Hey, wheres everyone else?" He yawned. "Oh they're all in the library having breakfast, you looked cute I didn't wanna wake you" She laughed. Stinkapoo smiled, "Come on then we should go join them, big day for you today, huh?" Spoke Stinkapoo. "Yeah, but you know what? I'm feeling pretty confident about this, I'm feeling ready" Beamed Rose as she handed Stinkapoo his crutches, "That's the spirit! You got this either way" Reassured Stinkapoo and he kissed her. They both never felt so happy, having each other is all they needed. Rose caressed his face, "I love you" She expressed. Stinkapoo giggled, "I love you too". At that, Charlie then walked in the room, "Woah! Sorry am I interuppting something?" He chuckled. The couple went bright red, "Oh uh nono, we're gonna head for breakfast now" Replied Stinkapoo, "Alright I only came in to see if you were awake sleeping beauty, breakfast awaits made by yours truly" Smirked Charlie. "You? Make breakfast? Don't make me laugh" Perplexed Rose, "Alright then see for yourselfs! I can guarantee it's better than the stew you guys make" Spoke Charlie with confidence, "Well, I'll by the judge of that then!" Returned Stinkapoo waving his crutch at Charlie pretending to whack him. The three exited and headed for the library where everyone else was at. "Ohh so nice of you to join us, Romeo and Juliet" Grinned Archie, surprisingly he didn't seem to be too bad now. Stinkapoo and Rose took a seat and Charlie served them their breakfast, it was quite a peculiar looking dish. "Uhh, so what exactly is it?" Puzzled Stinkapoo. "It's uhh, I call it the Osborne special. I just mixed together whatever I found lying around" Explained Charlie passionately. Rose and Stinkapoo looked at each other in bafflement. Dan then spoke up, "It may sound and look unappetising, but I'm telling you it bangs, you gotta try it!"
They both hesitated but consumed a spoonful of The Osborne Special. Surprisingly, the odd mix of ingredients turned out to be shockingly delicious. They exchanged shocked glances at each other. "Alright Charlie, I'll give you that one" Grinned Stinkapoo. "What did I tell you?" Returned Charlie grinning also. Laughter filled the room, even Archie, Jenny and Daurine were somewhat amused. The group then continued with their breakfast, sharing jokes and enjoying each others company. But it eventually got to the time where everyone started their tasks for the day. Everyone began to move, and preparing. Mike then approached Dan and Charlie, "Today's bow training for you guys, isn't it?" He spoke. Dan and Charlie both nodded, ready to go. "Alright, let's go get the bows, their in the sports equipment cupboard outside" Returned Mike. The three then went off. Meanwhile, Lily, Rose and Archie were discussing their plans for securing the caretaker's house. "Right I'm gonna go get my axe, I'll be back in a sec, then we'll be ready to go" Explained Archie. Lily and Rose nodded. "So, you feeling okay about this?" Asked Lily concerned. "Yeah, I'm ready for this, the three of us should be able to take them" Smiled Rose. "Yeah, shouldn't be too bad, if you get overwhelmed or anything just get behind me, okay?" Said Lily reassuring, "I appreciate it Lils, but really I'll be okay" Returned Rose, "Alright, yeah we got this, make your boyfriend proud" Smiled Lily. "Yeah exactly, I really don't know what I'd do without him" She Blushed. But just then, in walked Stinkapoo, "Hey, I just wanted to wish you luck before you went off out there, I know you'll do amazing obviously but I just wanted to see you before you go" Smiled Stinkapoo. Rose hugged him, "Aww thanks, it'll be okay, don't worry, we'll be back before you know it" Reassured Rose. "Yeah, I know you will. You'll do good too Lily of course haha!" Chuckled Stinkapoo. They all laughed wholeheartedly. "Well, I guess I'll get back to it, I kinda left Rubin on his own, see you guys later" Said Stinkapoo as he kissed Rose on the cheek, "See ya, have fun making the fire!" Exclaimed Lily. Stinkapoo then exited, leaving Lily and Rose to wait for Archie to return. "He's perfect for you Rose, I'm so happy for you" Smiled Lily, "I know, I'm so lucky, now all we need is you and Dan together now" Beamed Rose, "Uhhh ahem" Blushed Lily. "What was that? Speak up a bit haha!" Chuckled Rose, "uhhh nothing! Nothing!" Laughed Lily nervously. "I know you like himmmm and he likes youuuu" Teased Rose. But just then Archie came back swinging his axe around, interuppting the girls. "So we ready guys?" He asked. Lily and Rose then snapped back to seriousness, "Ready as we'll ever be" Spoke Rose with confidence, Lily smiled, "Yeah!" She echoed. The trio then headed out.
