~Solayne's POV~
Standing under the glamour of the moon. His eyes dig into my soul and as if I didn't have a choice, I stand there allowing him to.
His fixed gaze gave me goose pimples and the sudden feeling of dizziness left me completely.
For the first time since our eyes met, he peeled them away and onto the mess I've created.
Fidgeting with my fingers, my eyes travel from his shirt to his demeanor and still nothing. I couldn't tell if he was mad or disgusted, I couldn't figure him out at all.
Slipping my lip between my teeth, every hair on my skin rises as perspiration fills my hands. I can't take this anymore, his silence was slowly peeling off my patience leaving me anxious. I crave a reaction or something, anything but this ongoing silence.
"I'm..." I tried speaking but was interrupted by a feminine voice.
"Hey babe, I was looking...." her eyes bore into mine the minute she notice me. Her words cease and I involuntary take a huge step back.
Isn't that ...... ? My thoughts quiet down and I look at her thoroughly squinting in disbelief.
"No way" I whisper to myself shaking my head.
The liquor has done its course because I am definitely hallucinating at this point.
Her hands slowly fall from his torso and her bright smile fades into a shock expression. She stands in total paralysis staring back at me with wide eyes proving my point that it is in deed her.
Her mouth flutter open but no words came. My mind swirls with curse words yet my lips shield shut.
There is no way this is the same girl from this morning? I try convincing myself feeling every drop of my blood boiling.
Shifting my gaze between the two I know the best thing for me to do is get out of here just to contain my emotions.
Turning to leave, cold hands grip my palm pulling me back.
"Lia wait!" She pleads turning me to face her.
Slapping away her hand I put some distance between us waiting to hear what bullshit she has to say.
"Don't call me that" I correct her only he alone gets to call me Lia "we aren't good like that and we will never be the name is Solayne."
Nodding she steps forward. " this is not what it seems" she begins and I chuckle.
"You don't say" I fold my arms ridicule by how stupid she thinks I am.
"So babe huh?" I point in the man's direction" I must say you do have nice taste in men" I ensure to make her know I did not miss her first remark.
Stepping closer to her enough to feel her breath fanning my shoulders I ensure she hears every bit of my next words
"I can't wait for Jasper to find out what a cheap jezebel you are cause ouuu if you don't tell him, best believe I will." I sternly warn turning to walk away.
This conversation is just about over for me.
Like can you believe the audacity of this girl to try to take advantage of MY BEST FRIEND, how dare she play him like that.
"I can guarantee you'll do no such thing" she growls.
Stopping mid tracks, I turn to face her with a smile.
"Watch me"
Turning back around, her hands grip my hand in hers and her manicured fingers dig into my skin. Swinging my hand aiming for her perfect face , my hand is stop mid air by another hand intervening.
"Ladies!" His voice boomed throughout the empty surrounding making me tremble.
This is the first time I've heard him speak and the authority it held makes me weak in places I could only imagine. His eyes met mine with boldness and I dragged my arm from Ava's grip.
"I'd love to watch a catfight but this is a little bit petty don't you think." His brown eyes bore into my soul calming my angry spirit.
"How I choose....." she begins and immediately cut off.
"Serena zip it!" he barks at her and even I step back at the dominance his voice held.
SERENA..... his voice replays in my mind and I stare at her deceitful self just standing there hushed
"You can leave now Serena " he instructs handing her some money from his wallet after which he grabbed hold of my hand pulling me behind him. I urge to tell him to let go of me but I fear those eyes of his.
With him leading the way, dragging me closely behind, all type of scenario's runs through my mind. It's late and dark he could do anything to me.
I muster up enough strength to force my hand from his grip.
"Do not touch me?" I manage to instruct without sounding weak. The corner of his lips curved into a smirk and he stepped closer to me. My breath hitch in my throat at such proximity.
"You know this morning when I first saw you through the window, A particular thought came to mind."
"I was not looking at you" I quickly uttered , however, it's hard trying to cover your tracks when you were already caught, but pride wouldn't allow me to own up to such a thing.
"If you say so" the roaming of his eyes over my face held fire in them and I knew it would be dangerous to play with it, but having your heart broken so many times by someone who doesn't even acknowledges your feelings gives you the drive for something new and exciting.
I wasn't a fool, I know I will end up with a broken heart but let's enjoy whatever fun is to come while it lasts.
"I'll admit" I begin stepping closer to him so I am directly under his gaze. "I was staring " I confess my index finger sliding down his exposed chest." Fine looking men such as yourself don't pop up often." His fingers wrap around my trailing finger pulling my hand dropping it to my side. A small smirk creeps onto his face and his dazzling brown orbs pierce into mine.
I am probably going to regret this but let's blame it on the liquor for now.
