So-Yun has always been a shy and introverted kinda person, always living in her imagination . The other kids thought she was weird so some of them tried to bully her but without success. She was able to punch back without problems. She was a quite kid ma with anger issues, so if she was bother, she could pay back the bully. There were many times where the teachers were worried about her and her aggressive behavior, as a signal of violence at home but So-Yun's parent never say anything back. They thought she was doing well.

"I'm not going to be the one who'll be beated up" she repeated to herself.

She lived her childhood pretty much alone, rejecting the ones who wanted to build a strong friendships with her because e se believed that no one could ever love her. She felt nobody could ever lover her at the point to say "I'll be by your side" or "I want to spend time with you" .

Staying at home watching anime on her computer and thinking about herself seemed to be the best for her in those years.

She didn't like going out because of anxiety. Every time  she went out she felt other people eyes on her, like they were judging her. She felt they could judge her body, skinny and slender and making negative comments about it, like her mother was used to do when she was wearing something skinny. "You're too skinny" she said "You should eat more and look like more Jia".

Jia was a Korean girl who was going to the same school as her. They were not in the same class but they were the same age.

Everyone loved Jia. She was way prettier than her and her body was perfect. She had curves that made her body more mature and her hair looked like soft black silk while So-Yun's hair was puffy, frizzy and wavy. Jia's skin was light like the clouds on a sunny day while So-Yun's skin had a grey-yellow undertone.

She felt ashamed of her body, she couldn't watch herself in the mirror without commenting herself. She suffered internally when in summer she had to wear short shorts and tank tops so she started wearing baggy jeans with oversized t-shirt. Nobody could ever see the shape of her body with those clothes on and she liked that.

this year she decided to try and change her mind, her lifestyle, a new image of herself. She anted to live her life fully, without restrictions. Wearing again those clothes where she felt uncomfortable with, was a challenge and that thought made her breathe deeply several times. Anxiety was increasing, she want to exist but without been seen.

Despite that she forced herself to wear those short shorts and that tank top. If she wanted to change she had to do it now. In her mind the herself of the future should be confident, confident of her ideas and about her body. She would never depend by a man, she would be the man of herself. She would make other people fall in love with her and she would never love them back. She would be desire and envied, like those women she used to see on magazine and advertising.

She would never allow to a ma to decide for her and her emotions like it was for her mother. She would be enough and she would love every inch of her body.

In three days she had to go to Seoul to meet her father but she didn't feel to leave her mom alone.

Somethings were happening in the world: there were episodes of missing people and the only thing that the police could find were their clothes. Some people said they saw some weird object in the sky. They said they looked like airships but they were smaller and in a silvery color.

People continued to disappear and there many of them. We're not talking about a normal number of missing people but a dangerous amount.

The police said that could be a serial killer case, like the 70's.

So-yun thought it was impossible that so many people could be killed by just one man. Back in November 2025, 71 people went missing and on December 56 people. In two months 127 people disappeared. On February the new were talking about missing cases happening in other parts of the world: Tokyo, Paris, Busan, Venice, London, Dakar...

The number were still growing and the city life kept going on like nothing was happening. There was definitely something going on but no one was saying or doing anything in order to know more.

A man from Georgia went missing while he was going back home to his family. The next day his car was found by the highway with driver's door open. In front of the car, his clothes, like the body was paraded from the garments.

A little kid from Pittsburgh, his clothes were found near the woods by his house. the garments were not dirty and no bleed stains were found, not even a stranger Dna.

So-Yun believed in the existence of aliens because the universe is infinite, infinite galaxies could exist and so infinite forms of life. Like everyone she believed that the end of the world would be so far way from her life and she would be dead by that time. "The world would be a better place without people" she said "People are fake and they're trying to fill their void with other people... in the end we are useless creature, evolved without wanting it."
