Hours later, Ellie exited the plane, stopping by the baggage claim to grab her bags before she looked around the airport for her Uncle. She smiled when she saw him holding a small sign with her name on it.
The tribrid approached the man, "Hey, Uncle Charlie."
He smiled and hugged her, "Ellie, it's good to see you."
She returned the hug, "You to Uncle Charlie." they made their way to Charlie's police cruiser and Ellie helped him load her bags into the trunk.
Once they were inside the car, Ellie looked at her uncle, "So what more can you tell me about the whole Bella situation?"
"Her ex Edwin or whatever his name was, and his family are vampires, cold one vampires I mean, and I'm pretty sure Bella knows that but where no one knows that I knew about it, they never mentioned it when I was close enough to hear them."
Ellie sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose, "Oh okay well then if she does know, and they've just left her with the knowledge, then the Coven has broken the number one rule in their world, not letting a human find out about them and leave them human if a human is told or finds out about them, they're supposed to change them immediately."
Charlie looked at her, "really? I may know a little about them, but where I prefer to stay out of it, I only know enough to identify them."
"Yes, they have a coven that rules the cold ones, called The Volturi, and their main goal is to keep them hidden from the humans... my father's family has an alliance with them, if the Volturi stay out of their way, then they will return the favor, but if either needs help then the other will come to the aide as per the alliance agreement... I've never met them though, but my uncle Kol is mates to one of the members so he's there almost constantly unless he's visiting me, Dad, or Uncle Finn, and they will consult him on punishments for rule breakers or so he told me once."
"Wow, that's something... Ellie."
She laughed, "Yeah I know, I wanna meet them though and Uncle Kol promised that I'd get to someday, according to him Dora his mate really wants to meet me. But it has to be at the right time or some crap like that."
The two made small talk on the way back to Forks, Charlie had explained things more to his niece and gave her the run-down of what to expect from Bella.
They pulled into the driveway and Ellie looked around the front of the house. "All right first thing I am going to be putting protections up around the house, even if the Cullens meant no harm that doesn't mean that a nomad coming through the town would have the same mindset, and I'll make some protective jewelry as well, that way you'll still be protected outside the house..." they grabbed her bags and headed towards the house, upon standing on the front porch Ellie felt it, "I can sense some weak wards on the house, meaning that grandpa probably put them up, when he and grandma lived here but since his death, they've been weakened tremendously."
Charlie nodded at her, "Yeah, I knew they were there, which is why I've never been too worried about danger around the house, they've been there since your mom and I were kids."
Ellie nodded, "All right then I'll just strengthen them then instead of placing new ones because what's the use if these are already in place."
"You'll find everything you need in the basement, I've only been down there a handful of times just to make sure everything was good."
"Okay cool, I'll get unpacked and everything, and then I'll get that fixed up, and we will be good, and then I'll get to making the bracelets. I'll make you and Bella one, she and I may not get along, but that doesn't mean I want something to happen to her."
