Hollis sits cross-legged as Rune leans on a tree across from her. They were just looking at each other, each trying to figure the other out.

"This is weird," he said out of nowhere.

She laughs and stands up. "Never talk to a woman before?" She walk up to him with her arms tucked behind her. Rune narrows his eyes at her. The little human was getting under his skin, and he hated how much he liked it.

"What are you up to?"

"Nothing. Can't I just look?"

He looks down at himself and back at her only to see a flower in front of his face.

"Even a beast needs a flower now and then."

He looks from the flower to her and then chuckles. "You're a strange girl Hollis." He takes the flower, and that seems to make her smile widen.

She is brighter than the fucking sunshine.

"I should probably head back home. My brother can be annoyingly protective. Maybe you can visit sometimes."

"You like drama, don't you, little girl?"

"I'm not little. You're just too unnaturally huge, and for your information, I do not like drama. It will give those men a run for their money though."

"Don't want to get married?"

"They are too skinny."

He laughed and wondered why she would want someone bigger than her. Someone who can squash her like a bug.

"So what's your ideal type?"

"You," she said bluntly. He wasn't surprised cause when she said they were too skinny, he knew she liked them bulky. "I go for things I want and I want you." She poked his chest for good measure.

"Here's the thing, Hollis, you can't manage me."

"Maybe. But every man has a weak spot and that includes you. I might not be able to find it now but men have lots of weaknesses."

He bends to her height, making her blush. "I'm not every man Hollis. You still want me?"

"Yes. I want my human teddy bear."

Realization dawns on him, and he grabs her by the neck. Not to hurt her but to pull her closer to him.

"I'm not a bear little girl. I do not cuddle."

"Not fair," she whined. "I want to cuddle." She grabs his shirt, making him look at her hand. "I'm not letting go."

"Very well. But I warn you, little girl."

"Stop calling me little."

"No will do little girl. Time for you to go home."

She completely forgot!

She tips up and kisses his cheek.

"I'll see you tomorrow by the river. Do not be late."

She grabs her basket and starts making her way home.

Rune was left shocked.
