The Under-Estimated
Being beaten, forgotten, tortured, and hated wasn't on my list of things to do today. Practice time was in about 5 hours away. Dad showed up at the apartment again. Mad, of course. There's no need for any brutal details on the fight. Mainly screaming, pushing, punching, more screaming. That was until he brought out a knife for the first time since my mother , his beloved wife, died and stabbed me in the left shoulder. My good arm. After somehow calling the police and getting patched up, I went to the bathroom later than usual. I say somehow, not only because my father is a crazy person who should be put in a straight-jacket, but because I'm mute. I was born with the disability to talk.
I, personally, try to get to the bathroom at about 1:30, but thanks to my ungrateful father, I'm a half an hour late and practice time is getting closer.
As usual, I walked to the toilet, lifted the seats, and got down on my knees. 'Deep breath Holly' I said to myself in my head. 'You've done this before. Everyday.' I tied back my short, curly brown hair so it didn't get soiled. I grabbed the towel I always leave next to the toilet just for this. Placing it on my chest, I got closer and looked into the deep clear water. Slowly, I lifted my hand up and put my index finger deep in the back of my mouth, causing me to gag. 'C'mon!' I mentally screamed at myself. I did it again and felt vomit rising up. I tried once more and threw myself over the toilet, puke spilling out.
