It started when North Star had first captured Clover. They had multiple attempts to leave town- and even though after all of their deputy training was finished, he was posted on the edge of town- where the gate was broken open; to keep them in town. Clover was starting to get used to it, being stuck in the Wild East, but Martlet was a bigger priority for this situation and they needed to find a way out of town to be able to free her.
But as time went on, nights turned to days and then into weeks as Clover tried their best to get out of town, but North Star- in his lasting obsession for humans; kept dragging Clover like cattle straight back into town with that damn lasso. It was getting repetitive and outright dumb in this case, but Clover had to admit they never got used to holding their gun- let alone aiming. Shooting practice was awful enough.
Finally, as the sun was setting one more time, Clover went to see Flowey. Just to save one last time..
"Hey, uh, Clover." The dialogue box read. Puzzled, they continued.
Z
"So..... I've got this question that's been bothering me.
As you know, I've been helping you save for a bit now!
And.. it's been fun.. but there's this thing that's been itching my brain."
Flowey pauses to properly look into Clover's eyes. "Is.. your name actually Clover?"
They remain frozen and blank faced. Something about their stare says that they can't answer. A choice box comes up but I'm given ellipses for both options.

Flowey sheds a bead of sweat. Sighing, the dialogue box continues.
"I just... know that you came down here with a purpose.
And while down here it seems that every attempt I make
to remind you of that objective is.. ignored."
Clover's face doesn't move, but somehow Flowey feels me cock an eyebrow.
Z
"It's like those kids, those souls don't exist anymore.
You'd rather make new friends down here,
than even attempt to fight for the old ones."
Flowey gulps down the lump in his throat. Even though Clover hasn't moved an inch, something about them says they're getting agitated. In fact, Flowey took the fact that Clover didn't move while talking to people into consideration for the first time.
Why didn't they move? Most times they don't even talk, but even others move their hands or head when they talk. Even Flowey moves his petals and his head from time to time.
But not Clover.
Flowey shuts his eyes for a second to gather up any amount of courage, bravery, just some audacity to even imply what he's about to accuse.
"Who are you really? I'm...I don't know how to put this...
I'm curious to know why you're pretending to be Clover."
I look away from my screen, scanning the room to see if this is someone fucking with me. I usually get trolled easy, that's only because of the content I enjoyed. I specifically got Undertale Yellow because I loved Undertale and Deltarune. I already had played some of Deltatraveler and got creeped out by it- those were for different reasons. Reminder to actually play Earthbound before finding out about Blue Cultists. I freaked out and deleted the game before finishing it.
