I woke up in a room I didn't recognize, my head throbbing with pain. My surroundings were unfamiliar, the opulence of the room a stark contrast to the simplicity of my life in Assam. The walls were adorned with intricate tapestries, the furniture made of dark wood. It was a room fit for a king, yet it felt like a prison to me.
I tried to sit up, but my body protested. I felt weak, my muscles sore from the struggle. I touched my neck, wincing as my fingers brushed against the tender spot where the needle had pierced my skin. I was a captive, a prisoner in a city I had only heard of in stories.
I looked around, my eyes taking in the details of the room. There was a large window on one side, the heavy curtains drawn shut. I walked over, my legs shaky, and pulled them open. The sight that greeted me took my breath away.
Khansaar. A city-state shrouded in darkness and power, stretching out as far as the eye could see. The buildings were tall and imposing, their dark silhouettes stark against the setting sun. It was beautiful, in a terrifying sort of way.
I turned away from the window, my heart heavy. This was Deva's world, a world where violence and power ruled. And I was trapped in it.
Just then, the door opened, and he walked in. Deva. The King of Khansaar. He looked at me, his eyes cold and calculating. "Welcome to Khansaar, Aadhya," he said, his voice echoing in the silent room.
I glared at him, my fear replaced by anger. "I don't want to be here, Deva," I said, my voice shaking. "I want to go home."
He just smiled, a cruel, twisted smile. "This is your home now, Aadhya," he said. "And you better get used to it."
As he left the room, closing the door behind him, I sank to the floor, tears streaming down my face. I was a captive in a city of darkness, and I had no idea how to escape.
But I knew one thing. I wouldn't give up. I wouldn't let Deva break me. I would fight, for myself. I would survive, no matter what.
Because I was Aadhya. And I was stronger than Deva could ever imagine.
