What Happened To Us?

Oh God!! I can’t believe that I’m going to start high school next week…..Well technically I started two years ago I’m just starting at a NEW high school. Yeah I guess I should’ve been perfectly clear in the first place. Well anyway my name is Amber Lynn, I would tell you my last name but that seems like too much information, but I can tell you that I’m sixteen years old and as you know already I’m about to be a junior at Terra Nova High School. It sounds really scary to me because all the people I know and ever known go to Oceana.

I guess your probably wondering about me and why I don’t have many friends at other schools like most teens do but I have a very valid reason as to why I’m not very social. It all began in kindergarten, well that’s when I met him actually but it all really started in the 4th grade.

                                       FLASHBACK!!!!!

“Hiii Amber!!!!” a small girl with blonde pink tails and green eyes shouted as walked into my kindergarten classroom.

“Sorry we’re late” my mother explained to the teacher while I ran to the other kids playing on the rug with all of the letters on it “Amber had a bad morning today, it wont happen again. Amber, mommy is leaving I’ll be back to pick you up after school.” That was the last time I saw my mom before she got so consumed in her job that I barely knew who she was after that.

“What’s wrong with your hair?” a little boy by the name of Drew asked with his hand covered in glue. “What’s wrong with your hand?” after I said that all he did was smile and poured some more glue on his hand and then rubbed it all over my hand. Naturally I was confused but then I realized he was just being friendly. Drew wasn’t an ordinary kid, he was different.

4th GRADE

Now when I was in kindergarten I was very social and was friends with everyone but by the time I reached the 4th grade everyone decided it would be fun to turn all girly al of a sudden. I didn’t know that was the cool thing to do, so I just stayed my old tomboy self but apparently the girls didn’t like that. Back in 4th grade all of the girls had crushes on Drew he was kinda like the guy all the boys looked up to and the guy all the girls fell head over heels for….but I just thought of his as Drew, the kid who shook my hand in kindergarten with glue all over it, and as far as I knew that’s all he was going to be.

“Hey Amber Lynn,” Drew said while passing out the spelling test, I don’t know why he’s starting a conversation at this moment “Try not to totally fail this test” I knew he was joking, because he always had that certain sparkle in his eyes whenever he did.

“Just wait I’ll get at least a B-.“ but of course I went along anyway.. I mean that’s what best friends do anyway right?

Recess

“Amber!!! Stop being such a boy!!! You’re a freak!! , maybe that’s why your only friends are Drew and that dork Charlie. But I have no idea why Drew would want to hang out with such an ugly girl like you!!!” the girls would repeat themselves everyday that year until finally they realized I stopped caring and when they wanted forgiveness all they got was a person who had just given up on them. After that year I decided that I’ll only be friends with people who are nice and to Charlie, because no matter what Drew had no problem making friends. Charlie was such a nice boy, he was also my cousin.

 END OF FLASHBACK

Well for all of you guys wondering what happened to Charlie, him and his family moved to Arizona in the 6th grade and for Drew well I never really figured out what happened to him. All I know is that on day during the summer of when we going to be freshman he left my house saying he was going to see me again and I haven’t heard from him since. No, I wasn't completely sad I mean he was my best friend but I got over the fact that he left.
