[ Author POV ]

It was a starry night sky, the moon shone down the vast plains. Y/N was looking outside of the window their hands resting on the windowsill.

Y/N took a deep sigh, reminiscing in silence. Their gaze softly watching the birds fly into the sky, freely soaring through the air..

"Oh Y/NNN!~ I have something for you!~" Shadow Milk bursted through the door without knocking, causing Y/N to jump a little.

Y/N turned to face Shadow Milk, whom noticed their expression. "Hm? You seem.. A bit gloomy." His voice turned a bit low as he used his strings to pull Y/N over.

"Are you okay?" He asked with a raised brow, Y/N responded with; "I'm fine.. Shadow Milk." He only frowned upon hearing that. "It seems that you had a bad day despite saying that you're fine, care to enlighten me with what happened?"

"It's nothing really, just let it go." Y/N shook their head and sighed. "Is it one of my servants? I'll mount their head on the wall just for you!~" Shadow Milk said in a singy-song tone.

"What..? No!" "Then tell me who did?" "No one!—" "Are you sureee?" "Yes!"

Shadow Milk blinked, then shook his head. "Nothing will get you to open up, I see.." his expression slightly darkened but went back to normal in an instant. "Buuuttt!~ I'll find whoever made you oh so gloomy!" He said with a mischievous smile. "And I would make you watch them suffer and crumble beneath your feet!~"

"Let's.. Not." Y/N looked away, with their arms crossed. "You're no fun my dear." He pouted along with a frown. He gently tugged on his strings, before Y/N could say a word or ask what he was going to do, they suddenly found themselves in his embrace once more. "You like embracing me a lot, don't you Shadow Milk.?" Y/N slightly looked at the corner of their eyes.

"Oh!~ It's one of the ways of me showing affection towards you!" He said simply, whilst gently combing their hair. (If you're bald he just pats your head).

Y/N softly sighed, feeling a bit content in this position. At least he wasn't planning on chaos and destruction, for now.. His strings slowly disappeared.

"You're so cute, I'd just choke you to death!~" He said happily yet casually, Y/N simply blinked, they knew he would always say such compliments. "Thank you, Shadow Milk." "You're welcome!~ Hehe.."

"Oh! I almost forgot your gift, Here you go my moon!~" Shadow Milk handed Y/N a box. "Ah, thank you.." They said before opening it, revealing a small pendant shaped as a crescent.

"Sooo?~ Do you like it, my dear moon?" He asked curiously with a tilt of his head, Y/N smiled and nodded. "It's beautiful, thank you once more Shadow Milk."

"Yay!~ At least you're now so so happy!" Shadow Milk said with glee.

"But just remember if anyone dares to hurt you.. if they even touch you, I'll be the reason for their demise."
