The Grier Brothers Changed My Life

chapter 6

It's been two days since I last talked to Aaron. I mean I've gotten all 35 of his texts and his 21 calls but I don't know what to say to him or how to tell him that I just want to be friends. I mean it's easy to tell myself that but it's harder to tell him, I don't know if he'll understand or get upset and never talk to me.

"Bzzzz.....bzzzz." speaking of the devil it's Aaron, "Okay Gracie you can do this, be normal its Aaron he's your best friend you can tell him anything."  I take a deep breath and press the answer button.

"Hey Aaron."

"Oh my gosh Gracie it's so good to hear your voice, I've called you and texted you at least a hundred times why haven't you replied?"

"I've been really busy." I lie

"Busy...busy what laying in your bed and watching  Gossip Girl? You know I called your house phone too, your mom told me you haven't come out of your room for the past two days so what's going on?

"Aaron your my best friend and I love you so much but I can't give 'us' a chance because if something were to happen and we weren't friends anymore I don't know what I would do, so I'm sorry but I just can't risk our friendship.

"Gracie I understand I know that i just threw it out there in the open at a random time but I can't help but feel that we were made for each other. So can't you just take that risk and go on a date with me or something?"

"No Aaron." I say a little to sharply "I can't risk losing you, what don't you understand about that, your my best friend and that's all we ever will be, so get this little fantasy out of your head that we will work cause we won't."  As soon as I finished I knew I would regret it. That was too harsh and Aaron wouldn't take it well.

"Fine. I'll just get rid of that little fantasy and leave you alone."

And with that he hangs up. Oh gosh Gracie what did you just do.

2 days later

Aaron's POV:

I knew that I shouldn't have hung up on her I was just so mad that I didn't think about it and let my emotions control me.

As soon as she told me that thought we should be friends I swear I felt my heart break into a million pieces, I've liked her for so long and to hear that she didn't fell the same way it hurt. I spent the rest of the day locked in my room playing x-box. punching things and crying. I couldn't help it she was the love of my life and I couldn't have her.

I didn't build enough courage until today when I decided that I couldn't live without her, girlfriend or not I needed to have her in my life. So I showered got dressed and went to the store to pick her up roses. The whole drive to her house I was nervous, what if she didn't want to be my friend anymore and we were done. Well now here I was standing in front of her house roses in one hand and trying to fix my hair with the other, telling myself that we were just friends and nothing more. Then all of the sudden the door opens and I look up to see Gracie's beautiful brown eyes staring at me, and I fall in love all over again.

Gracie's POV:

"Uhhhh...h-hi." he stutters. 

"Hi Aaron..what are you doing here?"

"I came to apologize I should have been more understanding when you told me that you just wanted to be friends i was just so upset that I couldn't have you. I'm so sorry." he looks down and realizes that he still has the roses in his hand. "Oh these are for you I thought you'd like them."

"They're beautiful Aaron." I blush "I was actually on my way to your house to go apologize to you, I felt awful about the whole thing, and I've been thinking about it and I would really like it if we could give "us" a try?"

He looks at me with wide eyes like One Direction just popped up behind me. (i wish) "I...uh...would love to!"

"Great, now come in so I can go back to watching Gossip girl." I chuckle.

"Only if we get to cuddle.."

"Gosh Carpenter always pushing your luck..." I say sarcastically.

"I'm feeling a little risky today.' he says as he winks at me.

Maybe trying a relationship with Aaron won't be as bad as I thought.
