Chapter 1: Packing up

"Sweetie are you sure your ready to go in such a long trip alone" I could tell by my mothers voice she was a little worried but I wasn't a kid anymore I'm finally growing up and it's time to make my own decisions.

"Mom, I've already said I'm going with Cody and my friends I'm not alone.. for once you don't have to worry about me I'm a grown up now" I zipped up my bag as I looked back at mom.

Mom just looked at me before walking up to me and moving my hair behind my ear patting my cheek as she smiled sweetly "Your getting so big on me your not my baby girl anymore" a single tear feel from her eye.

"Oh god mom don't cry your gonna make me feel bad" I said as I hugged her tightly she lightly chucked as we heard a knock on the door we looked up and saw my dad standing in the doorway.

"Hey dad" I said, dad rested his head against the door frame "I hope your ready for such a big trip I'm honestly very nervous about it not being there with you" dad said.

"You guys really don't need to worry about me ok and besides I got my phone I'll call every chance I get ok" I said trying to make them feel better.

"Promise?" Mom said

"I pinky promise" I said in response.

*Honk* *honk* *honk*

I looked at the window as Cody's jeeps engine hummed on the road, me and my parents walked out the house as Cody popped out the jeep to grab my bags and put them up for me I turned around and tightly squeezed my parents in a big bear hug I heard the  trunk close and I knew it was time to go I walked back to the jeep hearing my dad announce to Cody "You better treat my daughter well Cody!" I knew my dad was joking he's met Cody several times and really likes him "Always do sir!" Cody yelled out the window before pulling off.

We couldn't just instantly get on the road we still had to pick up our other friends Amy,crystal and Kirk but luckily it wasn't that long of a drive I mean we all pretty much live in the same neighborhood so I wasn't to upset about the extra drive.

After we picked everyone up we were all having a good ass time to say the least Kirk and Amy were practically all over each other making out and stuff while crystal, me and Cody just casually talked and past blunts to each other, I already know weed can be bad but I'm 18 now so I should be good I mean I look like a grown women and I am one so I can do anything I want.

3 hours later

We were still on the road but everyone was damn near knocked out, I was almost passing out in the front seat Cody and Kirk switched seats, Kirk was now driving which I'm glad Cody needed to rest crystal and Amy cuddled up to each other "Ah shit" Kirk muttered I looked over a little concerned as I saw the flashing light on the fuel clearly showing we were almost out of gas "Oh fuck we're almost out of gas, do we need to pull over?" I asked praying everyone would be fine "Nah, I saw a sign about half a mile back saying there's a gas station near us and some barbecue so we'll be good I'd go ahead and wake them up though" Kirk concluded I nodded and started shaking Cody and the girls trying to awake them.

After a few tries they finally did and we pulled into the gas station I'll admit the gas station looked a little run down to hell and outside sat a whole shit ton of bikers which kinda scared me they kept looking at me and the girls strange as we stepped out the jeep and walked inside the gas station we heard the bell chime as the door opened.

I saw a old lady reading a magazine as a fan blew cold air into her face, the stench made me feel sick and Amy gagged a little almost vomiting " um excuse me miss can I please get some gas?" Kirk asked the lady she looked up from her magazine and eyed all of us almost analyzing all of our features "4 bucks" she said Kirk dig around in his pockets and pulled out his wallet, he paid and wakes out to full up the gas tank meanwhile I walked around browsing the shelf's and kinda vibing to the song playing on the radio before any walked up to me "this place smells like shit" she said "Yea I know don't think about it to much besides tonight we're gonna party and completely forget about this place" I said trying to cheer her up a bit I looked out the window and saw Cody and Kirk talking to each other as Cody smoked a bit "hey where crystal?" Amy asked "Um I have no idea, last time I saw her she was being us walking in here right?" I tried to posture up in my head where crystal could be before I heard a cream I ran out the gas station and toward the noise only to find crystal throwing up beside a porta potty "What the crystal, why did you scream like that" I said crystal spit a few chunks of hard out of her mouth trying to get the taste of it out of her mouth "That toilet is literally disgusting and I saw a rat!" Crystal cried I couldn't even believe that crystal had scared me like that over a damn rat but I just ignored it and walked back.

"Hey girls!, come on we need to hit the road we should be at the  air bnb in about a hour!" Cody screamed we all climbed in the jeep but before we drove I looked back at the gas station and saw the old lady staring at me giving me a crooked grin through the glass window it freaked me out but decided not to bring it up I didn't want to scare everybody else and she was probably just trying to be friendly by smiling.

We pulled off into the road little did we know we about to endure hell at its finest.
