I try to rush over to the robes shop and I notice the most beautiful black owl standing in the viewing window of the animals shop. I must make a note of it to mum that we still need to get our animals. I see my family in the window with Draco trying out his robes and mum fussing over him while father seems absolutely disinterested and impatient. I know I'm in for it now.

"Arabella, you know I don't like waiting." My father looks at me disapprovingly. "Yes, father. I'm sorry, it took me a couple tries before I was able to get my wand, and you'll never believe it but-" "A couple?! Draco here told us got his wand on the first try. Must be a sign of a powerful wizard he's to become one day, as I expect of him. You, however, clearly must try harder to achieve what I expect of you." I look down on the ground not wanting to meet his harsh stare. "Yes father." "Hm." He turns to mum and says, "Narcissa, dear. I need to meet with the ministry, I trust you to make sure our children don't look like a bunch of street rats in their robes now, right?" "Of course, dear. Safe travels my love." Father turns to my brother and I, gives a short nod at the both of us and leaves the shop.

"Bella, darling, you know your father cares. This is just how he shows it. You know that by now. To expect him to be something he isn't would just a waste of your time and his." She puts her hand on my cheek and taps lightly before going back over to fuss over Draco. "Now, Draco  is almost done with his fittings. Please step onto the other stool so the dressmaker can fit you for your robes as well please. The day is almost done and you two leave in the morning."

"Mummy, after this. Can we go over to the animals shop? I saw the most beautiful owl there." I try to explain to her but she shoos me away while focusing on my brother.

"Yes, yes. Dear that's fine. We shall do it later." She dismisses me. With a smile on my face I sit over near the window of the shop and look outward to the many witches and wizards that come walking by.

"Of course, no matter how early I try to make us King's cross is always packed to the brim with mudbloods." I wince at that horrible name my mum calls muggles, mudbloods. The Malfoy family is widely known across the wizarding world for being pureblood fanatics I call it. Father and mother have succeeded in having Draco have the same viewpoints as them but unfortunately for them, they have yet to truly make me one of them.

"Mum... you're being embarrassing. Not many people think the way you do anymore." "Arabella, don't be ridiculous, father has mentioned to us so many times how these mudbloods are inferior to us purebloods. I mean how do they even live their lives or function without magic?!"

Mum nods in agreement with Draco and I shake my head at the two of them. My owl, Archer, makes a small hooting sound at me, which prompts me to reach over my cart to pet him between the cage. We get to the column that's between platfrom nine and ten. My heart is racing, finally, I'm one step closer to escaping home and finding a new one amongst kids my age.

"Alright babies, run straight through the wall. Are you two ready?" Mum positions herself in between Draco and me. We both nod and all run through the column.

Mum makes sure we are both on the train with the bags and our owls sent to the luggage compartments before she blows us both a kiss and leaves. We are some of the first students here, so Draco and I have our first pick of seats. As I'm about to ask Draco where we want to sit, the infamous Crabbe and Goyle come rushing over to Draco lightly knocking me into one of the windows in the train.

"Draco! Draco! Finally. We've got here just before you, we found the perfect spot for us to sit." "Alright! Nice." with no word to me, him and his friends rush off to wherever they decided to sit. Guess I am on my own this train ride. No matter. Perhaps whoever I might sit with might become my new friends. I wander on over to a compartment to find a bushy hair girl and a timid boy both talking amongst themselves. I open their compartment door.
