Katherine loved him.
The moment he first appeared in front of her eyes, she fell deep for him. Her family thought of her as a maniac when she didn't scramble away from his hold or when he first broke down their door. There was something that drew her into him. When she was bitten and transformed to be his wife, she didn't resist.
She gave herself to him and to his service. Any threat to his life she didn't blink twice before getting rid of that threat. If he ordered her to kill a whole line, including the babies, she would do so. Like any powerful man he wanted children, not cause he wished to be a father, but cause he wanted heirs. When they had intimacy Dracula saw it as simply continuing his line, however, Katherine saw it as them making love.
Even, when he met her with a cold shoulder she still loved him.
Even when he left her after they had sex, she still loved him.
Even after he yelled and spat out how he didn't love her, she still loved him.
She still cared for him even when he didn't care for her. The only times he showed a once of emotion was during her pregnancies, which all ended the same way. Her miscarrying, the babies dying coming into this world, or dying days later. She mourned the loss of countless children throughout the centuries, whereas her husband simply grew angry and desperate.
He often sent her off to the world on missions such as sending messages to fellow vampires, just so he could be left alone. On her way, she met and helped out a vampire named Carmilla. She was welcomed by the vampire lord and the moment she laid eyes on Carmilla she saw a poor woman in need of help. She gave the push to get rid of the men and helped her take control of his home as hers.
Then her husband ordered her to stay in her castle. The lovesick Katherine did and stopped visiting her home, which she shared with her husband. At times, Dracula came to visit but only to have sex or to simply see his wife's progress throughout her pregnancies.
One day just like any other he left after he had fucked her raw and filled her to the brim.
Carmilla knocked on her friend's bedroom door, and was met with a happy Katherine wrapped around a silk robe.
"You okay?" Carmilla asked checking on her knowing Lord Dracula never checked up on her after sex.
"My legs just hurt." Katherine lies.
"Any bruises?"
The woman nods hesitantly and lifts her robe showing the bruises she earned while "making love" to her husband.
"I'll make you some tea."
"C-Carmilla, you don't have to."
"I do and I will. I still don't know how you can be with him. He's a bad husband."
"I love him, Carmilla. That will never change."
As expected she was once again pregnant a month after his visit. She jumped in excitement, whereas Carmilla feared for her friend.
"Do, you want me to send him a letter?" An angry Carmilla rolls her eyes as Katherine simply smiles while sewing a blanket for her child.
"No. I want to wait till I give birth. After a month of the baby's birth, I'll tell him. I just don't want to give him false hope." Katherine smiles softly while caressing her flat belly.
As the weeks passed her womb grew larger and larger as she grew the life her husband wished for so much. Throughout those weeks and months, he never came to visit. She found it odd but simply passed it off as him being busy. Her husband was a very busy man and she knew had other tasks to worry about. When she was just a week away from giving birth a furious yet sad Carmilla barged into her bedroom holding a letter.
"Is that from Dracula?!" Katherine squealed as she got up and snatched the paper from Carmilla's hands.
Carmilla tried to take it back to stop her friend from reading the letter, however, it was too late. Never had Katherine hated being a fast reader.
"H-He took another?" Katherine mumbled as tears began to flow, however, she started sobbing as the letter revealed his other wife was also pregnant.
Lisa Tepes wife to Lord Dracula was pregnant.
"Katherine-"
"T-This is a lie! H-He wouldn't! H-He loves me! He will love me! I-It takes time to fall for someone!"
"Katherine, he doesn't love you." Carmilla soothes her friend's back.
"N-No! He and I have been together for centuries, Carmilla! I-It wouldn't be possible for him to fall for another he hasn't even been with for that long, right?"
"She's a mortal." Carmilla spills out.
Katherine falls to the ground sobbing and denying the contents of the letter. How could her husband do this to her? She gave her whole life to him! She nearly even remembered anything about her family, after all the centuries they'd been together. She's killed for him! She's had his children! Was it cause they've all died? Was it cause he found her womb useless?
As all those thoughts filled her mind a sharp and very familiar pain hit her lower abdomen, A water puddle formed around her, and her friend scurried to help her give birth.
She [rushed for hours on end and delivered two babes. One that died and the other a beautiful baby girl that reminded her so much of her father. Katherin embraced her little one in a blanket she had sewn for her.
"H-Hi, my sweet little miracle." Katherine teared up.
"She looks healthy," Carmilla confirms to her friend.
However, even though her husband cast her aside the Belmont's didn't. At the news of Dracula having another child, they misunderstood it as Katherine being pregnant. They knew Katherine's fertility was not questioned, however, one day she would deliver a healthy child. And they feared that the child would be the death of all humanity.
So one of the few Belmonts somehow had managed to sneak into the little three-month-old's nursery. When Katherine got to her child's nursery, her little one's blanket and crib were covered in blood. The Belmont held a blood bag and Carmilla held him down.
"Where is my child?!" Katherine yelled to the Belmont who shut his lips.
"Tell her you imbecile!" Carmilla ordered the man who turned to the bag.
Katherine grabbed the heavy blood bag and soon her cries filled the castle as her dead child's ripped body was in the bag.
A week later her husband sent a letter in anger scolding her for killing the Belmont and his pregnant wife, never knowing his child's death.
