There I was, standing amidst the school's bustling hallway, the hum of students echoing off the walls.

In my hand, I clutched a bouquet of tulips, their vibrant colors a stark contrast against the dull grey of my school uniform. My heart pounded in my chest as I extended the flowers towards Sophia, their petals trembling slightly in my nervous grip.

As the whispers of our classmates filled the air, Sophia turned to face me. Her eyes widened in surprise as she took in the sight of the flowers.

"Thanks" she said, her voice barely audible over the chatter around us.

She gently cradled the tulips against her chest, a soft smile gracing her lips.

I knew these weren't exactly what she desired, but it was a start. I was determined to win her heart, even if it meant saving up for something grander.

"This may not be enough, but I'll try to save up more" I reassured her.

my voice filled with sincerity. Her smile widened at my words, her eyes sparkling with amusement.

"No need, I already appreciate this," she replied

her words soothing my anxious heart.

Behind me, my friends were snickering, their laughter echoing in my ears.

Ethan, always the joker, clapped me on the back.

"You're so brave" he laughed, his amusement clear in his voice.

I turned to face him, my eyebrows raised in challenge.

"Is there something wrong with being brave?" I retorted

trying to mask my embarrassment.

Noah, ever the cynic, added his two cents.

"Stop being so soft, Sophia likes bad boys. Grow up" he said, his words dripping with sarcasm.

I rolled my eyes at him, refusing to let his words get to me. I knew Sophia better than he did, and I knew she appreciated sincerity more than anything.

Lucas, Sophia's protective older brother, chimed in. "That's my sister, so you better protect her" he warned, his eyes serious.

I nodded, meeting his gaze with determination.

"Absolutely, she's Sophia" I said, my voice filled with pride.

Suddenly, Lucas stood up, glancing at his watch.

"Oh, see you.I gotta drive Sophia home" he announced

as Sophia gently tugged at his arm.

I watched them leave, a pang of envy coursing through me.

I wished it was me who was driving her home, not Lucas.

Realizing the time, I said my goodbyes to Ethan and Noah and made my way towards the school parking lot.

My motorcycle was waiting for me, its sleek body glinting under the afternoon sun.

As I revved the engine, I saw Lucas's car pass by. Through the rolled-down window, I caught a glimpse of Sophia, her face illuminated by the setting sun.

Our eyes met, and she gifted me a warm smile.

But Lucas caught her, teasing her with a playful:

'Caught you smiling, huh?' Sophia quickly rolled up her window, her cheeks tinted a soft pink.

I watched them drive off, my mind filled with thoughts of Sophia.

I was ready to do whatever it took to win her heart.

As I pulled into my driveway, I felt my phone vibrate. Checking the notification, I saw a message from Sophia that read

'Sleepover?'

Without a second thought, I replied 'Yes.'

After all, it meant I would get to see Sophia.

I already missed her.
