Ash

We've successfully avoided a fight against my father's wizard circle. I used my mother's burning ash spell to create a smoke screen and then the four of us escaped without leaving a trace.

Now we were walking through Mondstadt in hopes of shaking them off our tail. If we used another one of those portal cards, my father would know about it and track us again.

I was annoyed by this whole cat and mouse chase. Even outside of that horrible place I used to call home, my father still believed that he could control me.

"We should book into an inn or something," I heard Benji say from under his hood. "Those wizards wouldn't find us easily among the humans and they also wouldn't cause a scene."

"I'm tempted to stop running and maybe just kill them myself..." I muttered, but I wouldn't do that. I wasn't my father. "I mean, we can't run forever. What do we do about your barbarian kingdom?"

"I may have gotten a plan and it's something I want to talk to you four about, you two specifically, Meliah...Grover."

Meliah turned her head. "Might as well say it now."

"I was thinking maybe we form our own clan."

We all halted at the entrance of the inn. This place looked like any other city, but the humans that lived here were so peaceful and happy. Nobody competed about who had the best magic and the atmosphere here was just great.

Wait did he just say form our own clan?

"Our own clan?" I looked at Benjamin. "What kind of a plan is that?"

"If we form a our own clan, then we have no obligation to the wizards or the barbarians. We'll be free to love the way we want and live however we want. I know they've been at war against each other but ever since I found you, all that doesn't matter to me anymore."

My jaws clenched. He was still believing that us two was possible. He didn't even think to consider that we were both men.

"So what? We make a new a clan and then we're free? We're two men...I'll be seen as a disgrace to my clan and getting taken into another clan will give them even more reason to come after us and maybe this time kill us."

"Then that will be seen as a declaration of war!"

"Are you being serious?!" I glared at him. "War?! And who will be in this clan? Us four? I didn't leave that wretched place just to land in another clan saga!"

"Lower your voice..." Benji pleaded and looked around noticing people were looking at us. "I know it sounds insane, but it will buy us time. My father isn't as ruthless as people think. If we form another clan, I won't need to abide by my clan's laws. I get to be with you and my father will be able to see that you're not as dangerous as he thinks you are. He'll get to know and love you as his son. And then we can finally get married."

I didn't get this guy. He talked as if all that could happen in one day, as if it was all possible. "You don't know me. I don't need your help to deal with my clan. I left them because I didn't want to be in a clan and I am not going to join another one. If your father has a problem with me, he should bring it on. I'm not afraid of him."

"You're not thinking rationally here, Ash—"

"Says the one living in a fairy tail..." I scoffed and reached into his pocket, pulling out a few coins. "I'm getting my own room. I've decided to stay here...you're free to go do whatever you want."

I then turned around and walked into the inn  and got myself a room.

As soon as I got the room, I hopped into the tub. I used my magic to warm up the water and then I stayed in. I washed all the ash and smell of ash and smoke off my body.

My life felt like it was an even bigger mess than before. Initially I thought and expected all this to be easy. I had nothing keeping me home and being on the run forever also wasn't a problem.

But then I just had to meet that damn barbarian. Even now I had my chance to run and leave him, but I couldn't do it.

I just felt tied to him somehow and god I couldn't go on without that dick. Not after I felt how good he was with it.

I heard the door open and immediately I got out of the tub before I covered myself in a tower and went to check who it was. Of course it had to be Benji.

"What is it?" I asked him.

He stalked towards me, not uttering a word till he held me by the jaw and pinned me against the wall. "I thought I warned you not to use such tone when speaking to me!"

I was caught off guard and nearly slipped if he hadn't pinned me to the wall. I gasped because he was standing so close and he was...naked. Did he walk down the corridors naked? Did someone see him?

The thought of someone seeing him, suddenly just made me mad than I already was.

"What are you going to do about it?" I challenged him.

"Oh! You're about to find out!"
