SAME TIME
HENRY
"They're beautiful, aren't they?" I asked the lonely girl who was watching the sky. I am just drunk. I couldn't help but think about Catherine. After all the relationships I had, it was with her I cherished the most. I trusted her.
"Yeah they are." The blond short haired girl answered.
"The stars shine bright, such a balls of light. With a lot of colors like blue and white." I suddenly recited. I never really shared my poems to just anyone.
"But as they lose their way. they turn gray and can never show light like day." I finished.
"You a poet?" She asked and faced me the same time I faced her.
"No, I'm not." I answered casually.
"You have a great meaning there too." She said and giggled. I looked at her face she was breathtaking but I remembered that Catherine used to say the same thing about my poems too. And then my once great night was turned awful.
"The poem simply means, life isn't easy. First you're someone great and then you become hard and cold. simply because you fear that someone might break your trust again." I shrugged. I can't help it. Catherine was my love.
"Umm, anyways, what are you doing here?"
"You don't know me do you?" I said with great arrogance. I should be me. The new me. The one Catherine created. Cold. Arrogant. An Ass.
"No. You don't even know me." She said. Do I need to know this lady? I move closer and closer and try to see how she reacts.
"What are you doing?" She says and then studies me.
"Let me introduce myself." I say flirtatiously but she pushes me away and said.
"Hey, if you don't move away from me, I will call my guards!" She exclaimed. Wait who is this girl? First she doesn't recognize me which is great and then she reminds of Catherine which is just awful and then she pushes me away when I try to kiss her and she calls guards at me?
Well I am drunk.
"Okay love, don't worry okay? I won't touch you." I said with a little tipsy tone.
"Ass." That was the last thing I heard she said as I headed back to the party. As I entered back to society I saw Nathan.
"Hey, N-man." I told him.
"You're drunk aren't you?" He chuckled.
"What? how can you say that? I mean dude, I'm still in my senses." I say, I'm not drunk. Just a little.
"Well, you only call me N-man when you're drunk. Are you thinking about your up coming wedding? Your engagement? Or is it Cate again?" He asks. I shrug.
"Don't say her name again. Catherine is done okay?" I state in a dark low voice.
"Well, let's enjoy the part then ohh, look there's Mary." He points her out with that lonely girl, I saw in the Balcony earlier.
"Oh, yeah. And she's with?" I ask him trying to bet information.
"Casey is only one of the smartest, prettiest and richest women here in London and in the world of course."
Casey? Hmm, well we'll see if she's worth a try.
"Has your father told you who you're marrying?" He asked.
"Not yet. I don't like the sound of marriage. And I don't want a real commitment. How am I supposed to survive?" I told him. Seriously? My father told me this marriage would save me from the negativity of the paparazzi and from being described as a womanizer. Huh? I mean, I can't help it. A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. And he can't even help it. Power and money attract a lot.
