*Ben's POV*
I finished eating the food Jeff had brought shortly after he left. I didn't really know the place or people in it enough to go probe for things to do. I got out my phone and began playing one of my favorite games. I heard the door open and looked up. Slendy was standing outside of the room facing inwards. He ducked to come inside then sat down on Jeff's chair. I stared at his face, waiting for him to tell me something, "Ben, this is going to be your room."
I raised my eyebrows, thinking 'Wait, what? With Jeff?', Slendy nodded at my thoughts, "I'll bring another bed in for you to sleep in, so don't go crazy on me."
I smiled shyly, remembering that he could read minds. He left and I heard some rather loud whispering from downstairs. Curious, I stood up with the empty plate and headed downstairs. I went straight to the kitchen, glancing at the gathered creepypastas in the living room, no Jeff. There was a young woman in the kitchen who I guessed was Jane. She smiled a broad smile and said enthusiastically while taking the empty plate, "Hey Ben! Let me help you with that."
I watched her move around carefully until she turned to me with another big smile and told me, "I'm Jane, just sayin'". I smiled back, I never really got to watch her from the outside since there weren't any windows in the kitchen. She faced me completely and I looked down, she took my chin and made me look at her in the eyes, "No need to be shy around here. We're practically family now!"
"Are we, now?" I asked.
She answered brightly, "Yup."
I sighed and wondered about Jeff. Why was he acting so strange? Was it because he has a new partner? Would any of the creepypastas here know? Jane laughed at my dazzed expression and asked, "Worried about something?"
My eyes widened a little and nodded, she sighed and leaned against the kitchen counter, "You can tell me anything, you know?"
I smiled gratefully up at her, "Yeah, a little," referring to her earlier question, " about Jeff."
She nodded, thinking out loud, "He's your partner, right?"
"Yeah." I answered softly. She chuckled a bit, opened her mouth to say something, but closed it shut again. She smiled cunningly, "You'll find out soon enough what's barking up his tree."
*Jeff's POV*
Leaping down the stairs by two I could only think about going as far away from Ben as possible. He was driving me crazy. The way his mouth moved when he talked, when he ate, when he did anything, was too much. I knew that I wouldn't be able to hold it up for long, be able to resist kissing him until... until what? Until he loved me? No. I couldn't. I bumped straight into Masky and he smirked, "Where are you off to?"
I side stepped him to keep running, but he blocked my path. He took my shoulders roughly, "Jeff. Calm down." I growled and bared my teeth, moving one hand to my knife. He pinned me to the wall and I saw Hoodie come to help him. Masky told Hoodie, "Hold his hands." Hoodie obediently grabbed my hands, pushing them against the wall. I squirmed underneath them both, but they held me steadily against the wall. Masky then flipped me to my back while Hoodie took both of my knives. Before I could react Masky pulled my hands behind my back and upwards, making every attempt at evading them painful.
I asked roughly, "What the hell?"
Masky frowned yet said smoothly, "Like I said, calm down, I'm not going to do anything bad." I narrowed my eyes at him until we reached his and Hoodie's room, with Hoodie trailing behind. Masky sat me down beside him on his bed while Hoodie sat on the other side. I glared at both of them, waiting for an answer.
Hoodie spoke up, timid and gentle, "How do you feel about your partner? Ben?"
I looked down at my feet, not wanting to answer. Masky patted my back, earning deadly glares from me. He smiled, "Look, we only want to help you. Okay?" I let my doubt display itself on my face, not really sure if he was telling the truth or not.
Hoodie took over and asked again, "How do you feel about him?"
I replied cuttingly, "What does it matter?"
"You loooove him." Masky sang. I looked up to meet his teasing eyes. Why were they even doing this?
Hoodie smiled at me and said, "It's obvious."
My eyes widened involuntarily and I gasped, "Excuse me??"
They both chuckled and Masky said, "You're acting so protective, even though you just met him." I didn't know how to answer, they were practically shoving me into my feelings, which was a place I hadn't been to in a long, long time. They didn't need to now anything anyway.
Hoodie smiled at me, "Hey, it's not World War II. Calm down, don't have such a panicked face. It's just love~"
I focused my gaze on him, "You don't know anything, for crying out loud! You're talking nonsense and it's disgusting." I regretted the last bit because I saw his face droop and Masky tsked rather loudly. It could've seemed like I was homophobic... Fuck! That was stupid of me.
"You don't have to say it like that, man." Masky grumbled.
I stood up and faced both of them, "first off, I didn't mean relationships between guys are gross. Second, it's your fault for ambushing me and expecting me to be complacent. You're older, dammit! Why are you acting like children learning about a new crush? Huh??"
Their mouths gaped and then they shared a quick look then started laughing. What is wrong with them? Hoodie giggled and made a heart with his hands, "you just admitted you DO like him."
They can go die.
"What's going on here? Where's Ben?" Slendy sizzled into the room. Oh my god, he could save me from these clowns.
"We just uncovered the deepest and darkest secret Jeff is holding at the moment." Masky smirked at me. Urgh.
Slendy placed his hand on his chin to give the impression of being deep in thought, "is it about Ben?" I snapped my eyes on him, 'what??'. "More specifically, is it about how he already has feelings," he paused and turned back to me, "for the elf?"
I blushed madly and glared at them with as much venom as I could. It was difficult.
"He wears his heart on his sleeve, Slendy, it's hard not to mess with him about it," Hoodie grinned and dove into an embrace with Masky, clearly the giddiness being too much for him.
I tried to redirect the conversation as smoothly as possible, "Slendy, did you want to tell me something earlier?"
He brightened up even more when he said, "Yes. I did, actually. Ben's going to sleep in your room." He gave off a little mind-laugh and disappeared. I clenched my eyes shut. Wonderful, now he was tempting me. I don't think I can keep calm around him for long. At all.
