Hello beautifuls! Long time no see. I am really sorry but I have been extremely busy. I haven't forgotten you, nor the story but I don't have as much time as I'd like to have. I really hope that you like this new episode. Feel free to leave any comments, I am interested in your opinion and I'd like to know if it is worth writing this story.
I wake up the next day with a terrible headache. I completely blacked out yesterday, pitying myself. I am so lucky that the boys still aren't home. I don't want them to see the remains of my self-destruction. I don't want them to find out how pathetic I am so I quickly clean up the mess and take a shower. I am sipping my coffee in the kitchen when they enter.
- Oh, wow guys... You don't look so good. – I say when I see them. They can't deny drinking too much yesterday.
- We don't feel too good either. – Lewis comes to give me a quick kiss.
- I think I need to lie down... I will see you guys later. – says John walking towards his room.
We do the same with Lewis and I am so relieved that they didn't notice anything. I can't let them find out how much of a looser I am. They forgot my birthday so I got completely trashed... I am really ashamed of me. They are busy, it is not a big deal. I don't even know anymore why I reacted the way I did. Luckily, I got away with it... I have to be more careful. Lewis and I go to his apartment and we take a nap. We spend the day relaxing, watching movies. Everything is back to normal; well almost normal. This is the first time since my move that I pretend to be happy. Luckily, I am great at pretending so they don't notice anything.
On the 24th of December Tracey comes over in the morning and the four of us decorate the Christmas tree. We are having so much fun, drinking eggnog, laughing. The boys are keeping us company while we cook dinner. I don't dare to give them much responsibility in the kitchen, so their hardest task is to peel potatoes. We make a delicious three-course dinner and after eating we open the presents. I got tons of new training clothes, books and office supplies. The boys know that I am obsessed with cute notebooks, pens and post-its. Lewis and I decided to surprise John and Tracey with an all-inclusive wellness weekend. Although, we had an ulterior motive: to get some alone time. We finished the evening by watching Love actually. I must say that the boys didn't like the idea but they didn't have a choice.
The next morning, I woke up anxious as I will be properly meeting my in-laws. Lewis' parents are separated, however they split on good terms so the whole family spends Christmas together. After getting ready, we leave to go to Lewis' mother's. Even though we are only staying one night, we packed the car full. It is filled with presents for everyone but mostly it is for the children. Lewis has a really sweet niece and nephew. They are 8 and 10 years old angels.
- Are you exited, beautiful? – asks Lewis as he starts the car.
- More like terrified, what if they don't like me? – I say nervously.
- That's impossible. My family loves everyone, you especially because they see how happy you make me. They always ask about you and they can't wait to finally meet you.
We spend the rest of the car ride chit-chatting. After an hour or so, Lewis pulls up the car in front of a beautiful house. We don't even have a chance to get out of the car when two children run towards us screaming.
- Uncle Lewis, we missed you. – they jump onto Lewis as soon as he gets out of the car.
- Oh, I missed you more, little munchkins. – he bear-hugs the children. – This is Sara.
- Hey guys, it's nice to meet you. – I wave. – I love your outfits, they are so Christmassy. – I compliment them as they are wearing cute, reindeer patterned clothes.
- Thank you! You are very pretty. – says Samantha, Lewis' niece.
- Yes, you are. Would you like to be my girlfriend too? – asks Daniel, the nephew.
I laugh at their compliments.
- Hey, don't you try stealing my girlfriend, or the tickle-monster will get you. – warns Lewis and starts tickling Daniel.
After the tickle-fight, we go into the house. Lewis introduces me to everyone and we start talking about everything in general. I don't know how much Lewis told them about me but they don't start interrogating me and I am really grateful for this.
- I am so happy to meet you. – says Lewis' mom in the kitchen where I am helping her prepare lunch. – Lewis was always closed off emotionally. He never really talked about girls, let alone introduce someone. I can see that you make him really happy.
- It's nice meeting all of you. He talks about you a lot, family is the most important thing to him. – I smile.
- I'm glad to see that he found you, his own little family. I just want to ask you one thing: please take care of him. – she looks deep into my eyes.
- Don't worry, I will. – I reassure her.
Spending Christmas with a real family was amazing. Lewis' family is amazing and I'm really hoping that I'll get the chance to spend many more holidays with them. We played board games, ate tons of delicious meals, exchanged even more gifts and laughed. I never knew what being part of a family meant until now. I could get used to this on a regular basis. I was a little bit sad when we had to leave the next days but Lewis' mother reassured me that we'll do this more often next year when our schedules allow it.
Between the holidays, we mostly relaxed at home together with Lewis. John spent most of his time with Tracey which gave us an opportunity to spend some quality time between the sheets.
We spent New Year's Eve in a fancy hotel at a party organised by Mercedes. There were many celebrity guests and stakeholders so Lewis needed to work his charms all evening.
However, before the clock struck midnight, we snuck out to the roof which was closed down from people but Lewis borrowed the keys. Dating a famous driver has its perks.
We heard people starting the countdown on the street below us. When they yelled 3,2,1, and Lewis turned to me.
- I love you, beautiful, and I want to begin and end every year from now on with you by my side. – he said looking deep into my eyes.
- I'll be yours forever. – I smiled and kissed him. – Happy new year baby.
