The busy mall burst with life and noises, as people walked left to right through the halls of the mall. Open shops with bright lights greeting people in as they looked through the clothes made out of soft linen and silk. Or toys and utensils for the family, or the little shops selling niche figures and anime figures.
Izaya sat on a bench and sighed. He was carrying five bags filled with clothes. He couldn't tell which ones belonged to Yui or Jalia. But they were strangely heavy, one was filled with dresses and bright shirts while the other was filled with dark and depressing sweaters and pants. Izaya tried lifting the five bags with both of his arms but could barely move them above his ears. "What the hell did they put in these bags?" Izaya scratched his head looking down the two halls. Both halls are connected into a bright classic food hall. With many chain restaurants lined up next to each other filled with long lines.
"Where did those two go?" Izaya frowned, he didn't want to be seen stuck with two bags stuffed with girly clothes. Then he had a thought. What if he could just take these clothes home and leave the two girls! But Izaya facepalmed and shook his head. "But what would I do with these girly clothes!" Izaya suddenly became embarrassed by the dumb thought and covered his face.
Wait! Izaya had a light bulb light over his head. I could just give some random girl all of these clothes for free! He'll even show them the receipts for proof of purchase! But like the last thought he shook his head once again. "No that'll just look sketchy as hell" Izaya sighed and slapped his face on the wooden bench he was sitting on. The smack made a loud noise but yet everyone walked past the mad man like if he was their fifth hobo they saw that day.
"Hey weirdo!" A girl called out in front of the sulking crackhead. Izaya looked up and saw a girl with short cut hair and straight bangs with large steam punk goggles on the top of her head. Standing confidently and proudly. As she smirked at the frowning man and reached out her hand.
"You don't look so good!" She laughed.
Izaya looked at her with disappointment and frowned even harder."What's wrong?" She awkwardly giggled, but Izaya didn't respond and looked at her in silence. "S- Something bothering you-?" She started to sweat as the silence grew louder and louder. The bright sun shined on the white blistering food court. It's warmth warming up the two dumbasses'hearts. Izaya stood up and glared at her. "Who- who are you?" He asked highly confused. "Wha- wha-? You- don't-!?" The girl started to almost break down right in the middle of the mall. As tears slowly started to trickle down her cheeks. Her eyes grew larger and more watery as she started to sniffle her nose. "You don't remem- remember me-?!' she managed to throw up a sentence through her snot infested nose and throat.
As people start to turn their heads towards the two awkward losers Izaya quickly tries to calm the crying cry baby down. "Yeahhhhh! I- uh totally remember you!" But instead of it comforting her she started to cry even more as the tears unleashed all over Izaya's brown coat. "WHY ARE YOU CRYING?" Izaya shouted in confusion. "S- STOP! just! Hold on!" As Izaya grabbed the bags and the crying girls arm and quickly ran to a more private spot.
They stood on the side of a store where people were less able to spot them chatting. "I'm sorry for making you cry-" Izaya sighed as he rubs his forehead. The girls tears started to calm down until it was just a stuffy nose. The white light coming from the industrial light bulb overhead was blinding. As it shined on to the girls coat, and it quickly took Izaya's eyes. It's brown and red checkered pattern and the red tie. "Wait you're from our school?" Izaya shouted out shocked. The girl shyly smiled, "y- yeah! I was trying to get you to look" she sniffled. "Ahh my bad! You should have told me" Izaya awkwardly rubbed his head.
"Anyways what do you want with me?" Izaya asked the puffy eyed girl. Her body jumped and she quickly brought out a notebook from her pink bag. "Ahh I'm currently in the art club! And I just needed someone to draw!" She excitedly started to mess around with her pencil and started to sketch. Izaya raised his eye brow and tilted his head. "Wait-? Your- drawing me?" The girl nodded happily. "Wait why!" Izaya backed up a bit and tried to get the girl to look back up from her sketch. "Well.. it's just that the teacher told me to draw a picture of something that's not important in this world!"
Izaya frowned and pointed at himself, "hey that hurts-" He whispered. But the girl kept drawing and drawing, and Izaya stood there awkwardly staring at the frantic girl. As she swiftly moved her hand with such elegance and smoothness. Izaya was impressed, she certainly had a talent! "Hey since we're in the same school what's your name?" The girl froze. Her elegant arms swing back and forth frantically on the paper stopped dead in its tracks. "Names.. umm.. Naomi-" she whispered.. "Naomi? That's an interesting name. My name is Izaya but you can call me Izaya" Izaya shot her a quick and warm smile.
The girl quickly looked down at the floor and awkwardly twiddles her thumbs. "Man you're not good with this are you?" Izaya sighs and laughs. "Hey I'm trying my best!" She snapped back, then quickly went back to her staring at the floor. Izaya looked at his watch, it was currently 9:54. "Man I got to go! See ya tomorrow Naomi!" Izaya quickly turned around to see Yui and Jalia staring at the two, with faces that only showed disgust and pity for the two. "Ahh there you guys are!"
"Jalia? Yui?" Naomi jumped and ran past Izaya and gave Yui a tight hug.
"HUH?" Yui screamed in pain as the light started to slowly flicker and die. As the loud noises of the mall started to consume the awkward noises these four characters will continue to make. The sun shines through the old windows above. As if it was blessing these soon to be friends.
